"Don’t be upset, you’ll have to get used to it, because he’s a soldier." After saying this, He Zhilan gently shook her head at Jiang Biyun, signalling her to pay attention to the lesson and stop chatting.

She didn’t know where He Teng was on a mission, when he could come back, or if he could call her midway.
After finishing the elective course, He Zhilan and Jiang Biyun returned to the dormitory. He Zhilan was rushing off to the library, so she quickly dropped her books and prepared to leave. However, Huang Cai walked in and stopped He Zhilan.
"This morning, I saw Gu En returning to the dorm and then rummaging through your stuff. She took something and left," she said.
He Zhilan and Jiang Biyun exchanged glances in shock. Seeing their disbelief, Huang Cai’s face turned sour as she said, "I’m just telling you what I saw. Whether you believe it or not is up to you!"
"He Zhilan, you should go and check it out~" Jiang Biyun muttered in He Zhilan’s ear, "It’s best to stay cautious, especially with someone unpredictable like Gu En."
He Zhilan nodded in understanding at Jiang Biyun and then returned to her desk. She didn’t have many things, so it only took her a couple of minutes to go through everything. Then she said, "Only two used hair elastics are missing. She probably took them from my drawer to use."
Both He Zhilan and Gu En had long hair. He Zhilan, being a permanent resident of the dormitory, always had hair elastics in her drawer. However, she always left used ones out in plain sight for convenience. On the other hand, Gu En, who often didn’t stay in the dormitory, may have run out of her own and used the ones from her drawer.
Jiang Biyun nodded understandingly, "That makes sense. Gu En has thick hair, it’s normal for her to use two elastics." She thought that in the dormitory, Gu En was closest to He Zhilan. Therefore, it was only natural for Gu En to take anything she needed from He Zhilan’s belongings.
Seeing that it wasn’t a big deal, He Zhilan decided to leave the dormitory for the library.
Upon the start of the semester, the library regained its former bustling atmosphere. Just after He Zhilan wore her librarian’s badge, someone called out to her. Looking up, she saw Zhou Hongjin and smiled at him.
