"That’s good, that’s good. Ding Long is such a troublemaker!" Lin Deng chuckled and then handed over what he had in his hand, "Some fruit for your brother."
"Thank you." He Zhilan did not refuse and took it. It was a matter of courtesy. If she had refused, she would have been the one who was rude.
Lin Deng waved his hand, then looked at the three of them, asking, "When are you three planning to go back to school? I’ll be heading back soon. If you want to go, I can drop you off."
"Great! Thank you!" Jiang Biyun was so quick to respond, like she was trying to beat everyone else to the punch.
"But Jiang Biyun, didn’t you say you were going to hang out with Chen Xiting..."
Tan Heqian was cut short by a glare from Jiang Biyun, then, resignedly, he shut up. Seeing Jiang Biyun and Lin Deng start chatting, he sidled over to He Zhilan and whispered, "Jiang Biyun, she has no loyalty. She told Chen Xiting she would hang out with her before going back to school. However, once Lin Deng showed up, she changed her mind."
He Zhilan understood. Jiang Biyun liked Lin Deng, so she would seize any opportunity to spend more time with him.
"Ah, love, it’s the thing that can make a woman forget even the basic decency!" Chen Xiting gritted her teeth. With a friend , she felt like wallowing in self-pity 24/7.
Lin Deng was a military academy student. Even on weekends, there were strict regulations on entry and exit to the campus. He stayed in He Teng’s room for about half an hour before he left with the three women. During that half-hour, he was constantly engaged in conversation with Jiang Biyun.
Once he left, the room became exceptionally quiet.
He Teng, of course, wouldn’t admit that once Lin Deng entered the room, his focus was never on him. He was always thinking about He Zhilan’s pregnancy and his gaze never strayed from her belly.
