"You’re simply being unreasonable!" Jiang Biyun was so stunned by Gu En’s reaction that she was speechless. By the time she collected herself, Gu En had already huffily retreated to her bed and turned her back on everyone, clearly signaling she wasn’t going to interact further.

He Zhilan nodded, silent. Of course, her opinion of Lin Chan wouldn’t change just because of Gu En’s few words. Lin Chan had been kind to her—it was something she appreciated and understood.
However, He Teng’s concerns weren’t unfounded. So, she had to consider gradually withdrawing from Lin Chan’s social circle in the future.
This was two-sided. It wasn’t that she was worried about her own safety and didn’t want a friend like Lin Chan. Conversely, if she became Lin Chan’s weak point, she would hold them back. Hence, what He Teng said was right. At this point, the best course of action would be to gradually distance themselves and go on with their respective lives safely.
During the weekend, He Teng stopped taking his medicine. He Zhilan assumed that the army would send someone to assist He Teng with moving to the capital’s military school. To her surprise, it was Lan Li who arrived to pick up He Teng.

He Teng’s cast had also been removed. However, due to concerns of a potential accidental knock in such a crowded place as school, they reapplied a new, shorter cast on his injured area. As a result, He Teng didn’t need to keep his leg straight all the time in a rather comical fashion.
"The school has already arranged a freshman to take care of you. He will stay with you in a two-person dormitory. All the living necessities have been prepared by the school, and you only need to bring your own clothes." Lan Li stood aside, watching as He Zhilan hurriedly packed He Teng’s luggage. He Teng lived a simple life; even after staying in the hospital for most of the month, all he needed to bring with him were a few everyday outfits, which were brought to him by Kang Xing when he delivered He Teng’s wages.

Although she didn’t like Lan Li, she couldn’t deny that he treated He Teng very well, which was evident from the fact that he personally took the trip to send He Teng off to the capital’s military school, rather than assigning someone else to handle the job.
With a wry smile, He Zhilan thought, it wasn’t surprising that He Teng risked his life to save Lan Li. The bond between them as comrades was something she—a woman—couldn’t comprehend.
The car was driven by the Lan family’s driver. Throughout the drive, He Zhilan sat quietly by He Teng’s side in the back seat. Only He Teng would occasionally exchange a few words with Lan Li. However, Lan Li himself wasn’t much of a talker, so the car journey remained notably silent until they reached the military school in the capital.
