Before He Zhilan could speak, Gu En had already swaggered into the crowd. Seeing He Zhilan’s dissatisfaction, Lan Song tried to reassure her, "Don’t worry, everybody here is my friend. "Do you really know a couple, with the husband named Gu and the wife’s surname Lan, who lost their child?" He Zhilan shot back with her own question.
Lan Song paused briefly, his eyebrows twitched almost imperceptibly after a few seconds, and then he laughed heartily, "Of course I know! I’m from the Lan Family, and I can easily find out about something happening in my wife’s family! Why, do you want to know? If you do, you better give me face. After tonight, I’ll tell you everything."
As he spoke, Lan Song laughed in a rather smug way, "Everyone here always criticises me for having no culture. But you, He Zhilan, are an intelligent woman from Capital University. Tonight, you were brought by me. Remember, you should give me face. When the time comes, I, Lan Song, will make sure you know everything clearly."
These words made He Zhilan feel that something was wrong. Lan Song’s attitude was completely different from the one he had at the hospital. But before He Zhilan could ask anything else, Lan Song was already pulled away by someone else to talk. She wasn’t sure if it was her own illusion, but she felt that their eyes would occasionally glance at her, making her uncomfortable.
