"I guess I must have let Miss Gu down tonight, huh? I only splashed some wine on He Zhilan, and here you are exploiting me," Chen Shan retorted, turning to the silent Lan Li. "Seeing your dear sister being saved by your comrade’s younger sister, who is now lying helpless in the hospital bed, does it make you happy?"
"He Teng, I will account for this!" Lan Li was left speechless by Chen Shan’s reproach and Ding Jinshi’s mockery. Ding Jinshi’s sarcastic expression hurt him even more. He couldn’t believe Gu En could do such a thing.
"All of you should return, I’ll stay here with her." He Teng finally spoke after a long silence, "Miss Ding, thank you for tonight."
"No need." Ding Jinshi casually replied, "We’ll leave for now. Let us know once she wakes up." Done speaking, she glanced at Ding Long next to her, a hint of impatience in her voice, "What are you standing here for? Go drive Chen Shan and me home."
"Jinshi~" Lan Li instinctively called out, but the hand he reached out was quickly blocked by Ding Long.
"Mr. Li, calling my fiancee by her name is a bit too familiar, isn’t it?" Ding Long smirked, "Well, we’ll be going." Then taking Ding Jinshi by the shoulder, he got up to leave.
"I will go find Gu En." Lan Li finally said, and then followed after them, revealing his heavy heart through his footsteps.
When everyone else left, only He Teng remained with the unconscious He Zhilan. Leaning on his cane, standing straight a few steps from the bed, he had one hand on the cane and the other is a clenched fist in his pocket.

"Zhilan, why didn’t you listen? Why could you not just obey?" He Teng’s voice was barely audible. His eyes were bloodshot.
Of course, it pained him. She was his wife. She had held onto his arm, unwilling to let go, when they parted for the weekend, and tried to please Feng Zheng solely for him.
Then why wouldn’t he be angry? They had agreed that she would distance herself from Gu En, she would not go out with Gu En, she would not interact with Gu En more than necessary!
Why! Why did she still go out with Gu En even after a few days? Even if she were ill, she still went out for drinks with him without his knowledge?
