As soon as the words fell, Gu En glared at the three people before him, bursting into tears as he rushed back to his car. Quickly starting the engine, he sped away from the hospital!
Ding Jinshi and Chen Shan exchanged a glance, each understanding what the other was thinking. Then, both of them sneered. Ding Jinshi quickly got in his car, while Chen Shan cast a lingering, meaningful glance at Lan Li, before calling to Ding Long to drive away.
Lan Li stood alone outside the emergency building. The chill breeze of deep autumn seemed to have no effect on him. All he could think of was the image of Gu En - wronged yet defiant. Her crying and running away made Lan Li wonder if he was wrong?
Why did he hit Gu En in that moment? Maybe, it wasn’t as Chen Shan said. Perhaps, there was a misunderstanding. Or maybe, since Chen Shan knew that Gu En was the reason he split from Ding Jinshi, she deliberately lied to deceive him and Ding Jinshi.
It was quite a while before Lan Li finally got in his car, picked up the phone left in the vehicle and dialed Lan Song’s number. "All of you wait for me at Night Beauty! If anyone is missing, don’t blame me, Lan Li, for being ruthless!"
Perhaps because Ding Jinshi was in the car, Ding Long drove very steadily, not at all as wildly as he did the night before during the car race.
The phone rang suddenly. Ding Long reached out a hand to answer, without waiting for him to speak, Gu En’s warning came through, "Ding Long, if you can’t control your woman, don’t blame me, Gu En, for stepping in to discipline her!".
The call ended abruptly on the other side.
"Gu En, right?" Ding Jinshi guessed right away. "Is his warning for me or for Chen Shan?"

"Yeah, it feels terrific, absolutely thrilled! I am even thinking about having a few drinks to celebrate. Seeing Lan Li hit Gu En, I wanted to applaud and cheer." Ding Jinshi retorted Ding Long and then ignored him. Meanwhile, Chen Shan suddenly chuckled in the back seat.
"This Gu En is really capable; I’m curious if Liu Jiang’s proposal to cancel the engagement is related to him. Liu Jiang being willing to give up my Chen Family door is astonishing." When Chen Shan mentioned Liu Jiang, there was not even a hint of fondness in her tone. "I do owe He Zhilan a big thanks. Without her, Liu Jiang would never mention canceling the engagement. If he didn’t propose it, my father would compel me to marry him. He proposed it himself, got beaten by my father because of it, and I am finally free!"
"If you don’t like Liu Jiang, why did you run so fast when Gu En called? Ding Jinshi and I couldn’t catch up with you." Ding Long asked with a smile.
"Chen Shan looking down on him and Liu Jiang dumping me, is a different story. I just can’t stand vixens! If there is a vixen in this world, and if they meet me, Chen Shan, I will eliminate them whether I see one or a couple!"
Ding Jinshi knew about Chen Shan’s family affairs; therefore, she understood why Chen Shan disliked vixens. However, when it came to He Zhilan, she finally spoke up, "There must be Gu En’s scheming in this Liu Jiang and He Zhilan situation. He Zhilan is not the kind to throw herself at men. You should know, Ding Long, that He Zhilan wouldn’t even spare a glance for you. Can she really like Liu Jiang, that pretty boy?"
