In the hotel, He Zhilan was unable to sleep all night. A similar situation was happening in the military camp with He Teng, who also couldn’t sleep.
After receiving Lan Li’s call informing him that He Zhilan had rushed back to the capital city overnight, he felt a vague sense of understanding. It seemed that he had upset her.
All through the night, he waited for He Zhilan to give him a ’safe-and-sound’ call, but it never came. He waited all night to no avail.
Though deep down, he understood that she might have forgotten to make the call due to her terrible mood or perhaps she intentionally didn’t call him. Still, the thought that He Zhilan arrived in the capital after 1 a.m. made him incredibly worried.

At half-past eight in the morning, He Zhilan left the hotel. As she was refunding her deposit at the reception, a couple ahead of her were also checking out. Thus, she waited with her belongings, idly shifting her gaze over the couple. After seeing that it was almost her turn, she handed over the deposit receipt from the previous day. Accidentally, however, she bumped into the man’s hand that was holding the money.
"I’m sorry," He Zhilan softly apologized. Her gaze, however, fell on the man’s hand astonishment overwhelming her.

He Zhilan suddenly grabbed the man’s arm. Maybe her actions surprised him because he turned his head to look at her, confusion in his eyes.

Startled back to her senses, He Zhilan nodded and said, "Thank you." She collected the money and asked, "Do you have any identification information for that man just now?"
"No, that girl is a regular here," the receptionist explained with a chuckle.
He Zhilan nodded, thanked her and then exited the hotel. After standing outside the hotel for a while, she checked the time and decided to head straight to Lin Chan’s company.
Lin Chan would definitely be in his office at this hour. Although He Zhilan had only been there once before, all the employees at Lin Chan’s company recognized her. They greeted her warmly, and none of them tried to stop her as she headed directly upstairs to meet Lin Chan.
On seeing He Zhilan suddenly appear in the doorway of his office, Lin Chan had to rub his eyes as he stood up. "I thought I had gone blind all of a sudden. What brings you here unexpectedly? Didn’t you visit your brother’s military base? You’re here so early, don’t tell me He Mutou sent you back as soon as you arrived yesterday?"
