"Hmm," He Teng nodded. He was actually more at ease about He Dongxue. The one he was more concerned about was He Zhilan, so that was the first school he went to.
Fortunately, as he made his way in, no one mentioned anything about He Zhilan, which put his mind at ease. It seemed that with Gu En’s departure from Capital University, at least the learning environment had improved significantly for He Zhilan.
"Where do you live, bro? Let’s go to your place first. I’ve been waiting for you these past few days because I wanted to discuss something with you," He Zhilan asked He Teng after they left the Military Medical University. "Shall we go to a restaurant near your place first, and then talk?"
He Teng nodded without saying anything and led He Zhilan to the bus stop.
By the time they arrived at the guest house where He Teng was staying, it was already pitch dark. He Zhilan glanced around the environment, figuring that this place was especially designed for regular visitors, hence it was much nicer than an ordinary guest house, and devoid of random people.
After leaving their bags at He Teng’s place, He Zhilan cheerfully followed He Teng around the guest house area looking for a place to eat.
While eating, He Teng watched as He Zhilan scooped rice into his bowl and asked, "You mentioned earlier that you had something to talk to me about?"
"Let’s finish eating first, no talking while eating or in bed!" He Zhilan blinked her eyes rapidly and only stopped scooping rice when there was half a bowl left. She then whispered to He Teng, "The owner of this fast-food restaurant is really generous giving us this large bowl of rice!"
He Teng snorted. He Zhilan was the most talkative during meals and before bedtimes. And now she was suggesting not to talk during these times?
Looking at the half bowl of rice in her bowl, He Teng picked up his chopstick and scooped a large mouthful back into her bowl, commented, "Eat up. If not, Dad will accuse me of not looking after you and Dongxue properly when we go home for the winter break."
He Zhilan looked aggrieved. She knew that whenever she had a meal with He Teng, she’d have to eat like a pig. Fortunately, he was merciful this time!
"Bro, haven’t you noticed any changes in me? In just one month!" He Zhilan waved her hand in front of He Teng energetically.
He Teng glanced at He Zhilan and simply responded, "You seem fairer."
"Anything else?" He Zhilan stretched her hand in front of He Teng, "Didn’t you notice that my scars have faded a lot? Isn’t it amazing? I used something special that Lihua brought back for me from the USA."
After saying so, He Zhilan couldn’t stop laughing, but she didn’t mention her plans about going abroad to He Teng.
After their meal, He Zhilan used the excuse of needing to walk off the food to pull He Teng into strolling around the neighborhood near the guest house.
"The capital will soon be entering autumn! I still prefer winter in the capital though. It’s cold, but there’s snow to see. By the way, bro, when I have time, I’m going to knit sweaters for you, dad, and He Da!" He Zhilan held He Teng’s hand and didn’t let go. She hopped and skipped around, unable to stay still.
"No need, focus on your studies. Don’t let it interfere," He Teng shook his head, " If you have time, knit one for dad, he’ll be happy."
"Alright, if dad has one, you have one, and big bro has one too! I knit fast and skilled!" He Zhilan tilted her head back looking smug, "You’ll see, I’ll go to a boutique, check out some designs, then knit them according to those. They’ll definitely look good, and once you put it on, you won’t want to take it off!"
