He Teng had just taken a shower and opened the door still in his bath towel when he heard a knock. He greeted He Zhilan only to see her cheerily making herself at home in his room. She sauntered around, emulating his usual demeanor, before turning her gaze back to him.
"Aren’t you going to get dressed first?" He Zhilan teased, her face a mix of amusement and mild disbelief, "If you’re planning on strutting around in front of me , I really don’t mind. Even if you’re shirtless, I won’t object."
He Zhilan’s words struck He Teng like a bolt from the blue. He glanced at her before retreating into the bathroom and closing the door. Looking at himself in the mirror, he noticed droplets still clinging to his upper body. "How did you find me?" He Zhilan thought that she had hidden quite well and had wondered if He Teng would go looking for her. To her surprise, He Teng had walked over and pulled the curtain back, covering her face with a towel.
He Teng didn’t answer, just gave her a look as if she was a fool. He then pulled the frozen figure away from the window, pointing at her feet.
He Zhilan didn’t understand. Looking down at her feet, she thought she might have stepped on something dirty, but didn’t see anything. She looked up at He Teng, puzzled.
His response came in a gale of laughter. "Your toes were poking out from under the curtain. What, you think I’m blind? Hurry up and dry your hair."
"I’m too lazy to dry it, so sleepy, I’m going to bed!" He Zhilan threw the towel back at He Teng, yawning as she started to leave. As she went, she added, "It’ll dry naturally when I wake up tomorrow morning!"
"Come back!" He Teng felt a headache brewing, "How old are you? Can’t you take care of yourself? If you get a headache, it’s you who’ll suffer! Go sit in the chair!"
