"Lie down and sleep. Stop messing around." He Zhilan had barely raised her hand when He Teng sternly warned her.
"I’m not messing with you. I just want to let down my hair because I feel uncomfortable with my ponytail while asleep." He Zhilan sat up and pouted. As she said, she was just taking down her hair tie.
However, after she’d undone her hair tie, she quickly planted a kiss on He Teng’s lips and then laughed and said, "Goodnight kiss!"
Not stopping there, she lay her head on He Teng’s shoulder and said, "Sleeping alone in your room back home makes me feel uncomfortable! But now, I’ll get to see you often when I start teaching at school."
"You’re teaching in Ya’nan and leaving your company in the capital? Won’t you be tired running back and forth?" He Teng pushed He Zhilan’s head away, moved her hair to the side. Her hair kept irritating his nose, making him want to sneeze.
"Everything in the company has been sorted out, and there are plenty of people overseeing it in my absence. Lin Chan is in the capital and can handle any issues at the company. I’ll just need to make a trip each month to check the accounts and inspect everyone’s work." He Zhilan sighed and said, "Brother, when are we getting back together? Look at you, you’ve separated your house and now you’re living alone in such a big place. It’s so empty and wasteful!"
He Teng didn’t respond, shifting his body to face away from He Zhilan.
He Zhilan pouted and forcefully turned He Teng around, continuing, "I live alone in the school staff dormitory, and it’s lonely! You’re lonely living here too! Once we get back together, I’ll move in here with you. Every morning, you leave for training while I go to work. After work, I can go to the city to buy groceries and cook dinner for you!"
He Zhilan got more excited the more she spoke, "And, this apartment is perfect! Two bedrooms! We can turn the next room into a baby’s room! I’ve graduated now, brother, once we get re-married can we try for a baby? Ding Jinshi’s daughter is so pretty, and I’m so envious! And Ya Dan’s son, as well as Xing Ye’s two little kids, they’re all super adorable! Our kid will surely be as likeable as theirs."
Seeing that He Teng was ignoring her, He Zhilan wasn’t angry or discouraged. She poked He Teng’s arm and giggled, "Ya Dan’s son looks like him. Ding Jinshi’s daughter is the image of Ding Long. Xing Ye’s two kids resemble Xing Ye at first sight and upon a closer look, they look like Bian Xiulin. Brother, who do you think our kid would resemble? I reckon, they’d look like me because I am prettier than you!"
The man next to her finally responded with a subtle chuckle at He Zhilan’s claim of being prettier than him.
A few seconds later, He Teng finally spoke, "Close your eyes and sleep! No more talking!"
"I’m not your soldier, I don’t have to obey your commands!" He Zhilan raised her eyebrows, challenging him, "Our father is just next door, what can you do to me? If you dare throw me off the bed, I will call out for dad and say you are bullying me! Brother, listen, if I can’t control my desires tonight and have my way with you, you can only sit there and cry."
At this, He Zhilan laughed with great satisfaction, "But rest assured, I won’t, so you can sleep peacefully!"
