At the entrance of Mist City Arts and Science University, two young men who looked to be in their late twenties walked side by side. One of them was carrying a brown book bag over his shoulder.
The two of them stood in front of the gates of the university for quite some time.
"Looking at the university gate and these young university students, I can’t help but think of our time at Qinghua University."
The young man with the buzz cut gazed at the sign reading "Mist City Arts and Science University" and couldn’t help but sigh.
Luo Peng, the man with the brown book bag, nodded, then took out his phone from his pocket and called An Yujia.
Standing next to Luo Peng was his university classmate, also a graduate from the Mechanical Engineering department of Qinghua University like Luo Peng, and they both worked as mechanical engineers at Dingli Group.
Originally, Luo Peng intended to come to Mist City Arts and Science University alone, to join Principal Ding’s Feiyue Group.
However, Luo Peng’s classmate also held contemptuous feelings for the conduct of Dingli Group. Therefore, he eventually decided to join Luo Peng in leaving the Dingli Group.
"Principal Ding will certainly welcome you," Luo Peng said to his classmate, Su Beilin.
Thus, Su Beilin decided to accompany Luo Peng to Mist City Arts and Science University, hoping to join Principal Ding’s project, Big White Robot.
Luo Peng suggested that if they were to follow Principal Ding’s lead, their professional development and future prospects would be limitless.
Staying put in the Dingli Group, however, would mean witnessing sleazy business practices between Dingli Group and Rentang Medical Technology Group daily.
"Jia, I am at the gate of Mist City Arts and Science University and I have everything with me," Luo Peng said after picking up the call.
"Okay, wait for me at the gate. I’ll soon be there to pick you up."
As soon as An Yujia finished speaking, she quickly got up, left her office, and headed towards Principal Ding’s office to notify him.
However, when An Yujia arrived, she found Principal Ding in a meeting with other administrators discussing some important matters.
So An Yujia decided not to interrupt Principal Ding after all, instead going to pick up Luo Peng from the university gate.
"Peng, this Mist City Arts and Science University hasn’t even managed to fill all four class years, yet within its current student body, there are students who have already shown exceptional talent. This university must be something."
Like Luo Peng, Su Beilin had also done his homework on Mist City Arts and Science University.
Students like Tong Yihang and Liu Tiefei from the Mechanical Engineering department appeared to be no less competent in the construction technique of the medical robot Big White, compared to their counterparts from Qinghua University.
This goes to show that Mist City Arts and Science University, despite being newly founded, had already shown potential.
Establishing a university, especially a private one, is challenging, particularly in terms of generating markers of success.
As is widely recognized, public universities, key universities, and even Double First-Class universities, can annually cultivate many professionals in various fields who are of significant value to both the country and society.
A graduate from a private university is generally seen as a "no-good", and attending a private university is considered "killing time" in the eyes of many people.
And yet, Mist City Arts and Science University seems to differentiate itself.
In this private university, not only have they managed to produce talents like Tong Yihang and Liu Tiefei, who have worked on constructing the Big White Robot, but they have produced winning students from the school of Architecture, as well as a professional eSports team that has made it to the LPL league.
Keep in mind that when Su Beilin first started playing League of Legends, it was during his university years. So, both he and Luo Peng were among the earliest fans of the game and they continue to follow professional eSports leagues.
The five students from the E-sports Game College of Mist City Arts and Science University named the professional team FY, after Principal Ding’s Feiyue Group. In just over a year, they managed to advance from the City Heroes Competition to qualify for the LSPL league, and from there, they made their way to the LPL.
Meaning, the Mist City Arts and Science University’s FY team will be present in the upcoming LPL Spring matches next year.
Truth be told, Su Beilin was quite interested in the young and vibrant team.
The fact that a private university could achieve such success in just over one year truly stands out in Xia Country.
Judging by the pace at which Mist City Arts and Science University is developing, Su Beilin even believed that the university had the potential to make its way into the ranks of domestic Double First-Class universities in the next ten years.
Perhaps it could even compete against the likes of Qinghua University or Yanjing University!
"Indeed, it’s truly uncommon for a private university to provide such high-quality education. As you should know, even Professor Luo Xiang has been made an honorary professor for the school of law at Mist City Arts and Science University," Luo Peng couldn’t help but sigh as he said.
"Of course, I know. But I guess Professor Luo Xiang will only hold a nominal post and will not actually teach classes. However, I do feel that the gallium nitride semiconductor materials research conducted by several professors from Jiangnan University of Science and Technology, along with Principal Ding, will bring about significant results within one or two years!" Su Beilin said.
He knew that the man at the helm of Feiyue Group, alias Ding Yue, Head of the Board of Directors of Mist City Arts and Science University, was indeed a genius. His sister, Ding Xiaoyou, was not just a genius, but prodigiously talented.
She had even refused offers from Qinghua University and Yanjing University, ultimately opting for Mist City Arts and Science University.
Su Beilin suspected that any significant achievements or attempts at turning Mist City Arts and Science University into a key private university in the country would not be possible without the efforts of Principal Ding’s sister, Ding Xiaoyou.
