Starting With an SSS-Rank Swordsmanship Talent Chapter 495

Chapter 495: Interference

The two fought fiercely, causing massive damage to the surroundings.

Each time they clashed, violent shockwaves erupted.

Christon’s lance pulsated with overwhelming force. With each swing, he left deep holes in the ground.

I can feel it! I can feel my mana boiling with excitement!

He could finally sense the sign that he had been waiting for. He had never felt this kind of sensation before since he stepped into the peak of Transcendence.

Devion who was on the receiving end of his ferocious attacks was starting to get annoyed.

His hits are heavy. I don’t think my shield would last for long.

Realizing the situation, he knew that he must not be passive in this battle.

With a cold snort, he pushed him back with his shield and swung his sword with lethal force.

Seeing this, Christon wasn’t flustered. He turned and deflected the blow to forcefully change its trajectory.

Devion’s broadsword heavily smashed into the ground.

“You are strong, but you move too slowly. Even a skilled Elite Knight can dodge your attacks if they are fast enough.” Christon spoke in a mocking voice.

“You talk too much!” Devion roared and released a series of slashes, but Christon evaded them all with ease.

While they were fighting, the Unbreakable Heavy Cavalry and the Gryphon Knights Order also fought relentlessly.

Individually, the warriors of the Gryphon Knights Order were more powerful and skilled. On the other hand, the warriors of the Unbreakable Heavy Cavalry were experts in defense and tactics.

The battle between the two armies was brutal and the casualties of both sides rose as the battle progressed.

However, this stalemate was quickly broken when the intervention of one person.

It was a man dressed in black armor. He moved like a mirage, wielding a pair of daggers with unbridled power.

He was so fast that he left afterimages in his wake. Even Transcendent Knights could barely follow his movements.

With each kill, he would disappear into the crowd and reappear to kill another.

He was like a grim reaper, a shadow of death.

“There’s another expert on your side?” Devion grimaced when he saw the situation.

He thought that Christon would be the only troublesome foe he would have to face, but the presence of another warrior at their level would make things unpredictable.

Christon furrowed his eyebrows.

He was planning to use Devion as a whetstone to advance his realm, but Caecus might spoil his chances.

“Sir Caecus, leave this man to me! I can handle him by myself!” He shouted.

Caecus heard his words, but he didn’t respond. He continued to assassinate the warriors of the Unbreakable Heavy Cavalry. It was as if he were sending a message to Christon.

What does he mean by this silence?

Christon couldn’t understand what Caecus was thinking.

“How dare you look away from me?!” A furious roar drifted into his ears.

Christon quickly blocked the incoming sword, but the tremendous force sent him back a couple of steps.

He looked down and discovered a deep gush on his arm.

He lifted his head and narrowed his eyes.

Just as he was about to attack, he saw a blurry figure moving past him.

“Sir Caecus!” He recognized the figure.

Caecus ignored him and threw several hidden weapons to Devion.

Devion lifted his shield to protect himself from the hidden weapons, but when he lowered his shield, he found out that the enemy had already disappeared.

Where is he? Where did he go?

His body suddenly turned cold and he felt a stabbing pain in his throat.

Looking down, he saw a bloody dagger sticking out of his neck.

Those were his last thoughts before his head was separated from his body.

After killing him, Caecus stopped moving and stared deeply at Christon. “I understand your urgency to advance, but we are at war. Waiting for you to kill him would only result in more casualties.”

Christon took a deep breath.

I should be thinking of how we can minimize our losses instead of prioritizing my advancement.

Caecus’s words made him recall the promise he made when he became the Commander of the Gryphon Knights Order.

I promised to protect my subordinates… but because of me, they…

He was ashamed of himself.

He was about to respond to Caecus, but the guy was nowhere to be found.

He smiled faintly and mumbled.

“I will express my gratitude later. I must thank him for making me remember the promise I made back then.”

With Caecus’ help, the Gryphon Knights Order managed to push back the Unbreakable Heavy Cavalry and forced them into retreat.

The Astanian troops also dealt a huge blow to Remondin’s army and drove them away from Midgard after a few hours of battle.

“We won…” Giovanni took off his helmet as he watched the retreating enemy soldiers.

Derrek who was next to him said with a chuckle. “You did great, Your Highness. We won because you were here to inspire our troops.”

Giovanni shook his head. “It wasn’t because of me. You saw it too. It was because of him.” Thɪs chapter is updatᴇd by novèlfire.net

When he said this, he looked at the lone figure in the middle of countless corpses. He was dressed in black armor that was drenched in blood. The daggers he was holding were still dripping wet, looking incredibly terrifying.

Derrek followed his gaze and nodded without saying a word.

Caecus wasn’t the flashiest fighter, but he killed the most dangerous foes on the enemy’s side. He made things easier for them by killing the enemy’s commanders.

“Once things are over, House Silversword will be recognized as the strongest household in all of Astania,” Giovanni added, his voice filled with certainty.

“That’s true. For a countryside aristocrat, they have more Transcendent Knights than those bigshots in the capital.” Derrek agreed.

“Enough about that. We still have things to deal with. Besides, the battle isn’t over yet.”
