"Indeed, like our family, no one has ever had a spell affinity higher than three points." Jessica finally finished cleaning up her inventory and joined the conversation.
"You basically lack a bloodline with spell affinity." Faye said with a smile, "All right, let’s complete the final test."
So, Malin switched to the last set of stone slabs for the children.
"The sacred Fate Stone Slab." Faye sighed as she walked up to the three children, "Come, children, place your hands down."
The three children placed their hands down, Malin blinked, and then felt as though he had undergone a purification. He looked up at the girls, "I think I’ve witnessed a miracle, nine points, ten points, eight points."
Clutching her observation scope, Clovis was stunned for a long while before she announced her scores, "Nine points, nine and a half points, and nine points."
"Three nines." Faye put down her measuring glass and looked at the three children with a smile, "Record that, nine points, nine and a half points, and nine points... I’m saying, for future raffles, let’s have Jessica do it."
Malin was the first to laugh, walking over and giving Jessica a hug, "When these three kids become apprentices, I’m sure the Church will reward you handsomely. Congratulations, Mother Jessica."
The wolf girl looked miserable, "I just hope the good people at the Church don’t make me headmistress of the nursery. I really don’t want to drink this medicine anymore."
As the girls were laughing, Matilda had already set up the stone slabs, "Jessica, your turn to try. You’ve drunk the potion, though you’ve almost vomited it all up, but you can still do a bit of testing."
"Ah, right, I’ll give it a try. It’s been almost ten years since I last tested this," said Jessica, turning her head to Malin, "Malin, would you keep an eye out for me?"
"Not a problem, dear." Malin lifted the observation scope in his hands.
Jessica started with the sacred stone slab, testing in reverse.
"Is there light?" Jessica turned to look at Malin.
Malin shook his head.
"Is there light?" Jessica looked at Malin while switching to another stone slab.
Malin continued to shake his head.
Jessica stopped talking, pressed three stone slabs in succession, all met with Malin shaking his head.
"See, I really don’t have such talent," Jessica said, annoyed, as she placed her hand on the first stone slab.
The stone slab split in response.
Jessica was stunned for a moment, looking at her sisters who were almost in tears, "I swear I didn’t push hard!"
Maya’s eyes widened like a standard leopard, filled with curiosity that almost spilled out of her eyes.
Lillim sighed, "I heard those things are quite expensive."
But Malin interrupted the girls’ conversation, "Ten points."
"What?" The girls looked at Malin in unison.
Malin set down his observation scope, "I said ten points, and then the stone slab cracked. Do we have a high-grade stone slab on hand?"
"I asked about that, they said it’s in the warehouse, but the church brother in charge is critically injured and hasn’t woken up yet." Faye said, and then she looked at Jessica, "You’re not a shapeshifter, are you?"
"Nonsense, shapeshifters don’t have spell talent. It seems like an awakening." Clovis looked at Jessica, "Congratulations, Jessica."
"Wait a second, Clovis, do you mean that I have spell talent now and can throw fireballs!" Jessica looked extremely happy. After hearing Clovis’s affirmative response, the wolf girl lifted Clovis and spun her around a few times. After putting Clovis down, she began to lift the three children.
Malin felt that the wolf girl was probably just happy about being able to throw fireballs.
Silly girl, with a spell talent of ten, if you go to the Mage Tower, there’s plenty. After all, humans truly are a species adept at destruction, whether they are adults or children.
"Alright, pack up, let’s take the results to Instructor Sayer." Thinking this, Malin clapped his hands.
"Eh, isn’t Maya going to try?" Faye looked at Malin, "She’s on her second cup."
Malin turned his head to look at the little leopard, who was drinking happily.
