Steampunk Era: Mad Abield Chapter 790

If lucky, Malin wanted to visit.

After transferring everything completely, Malin also d twenty thousand Mowish in the name of Keders.

Amidst the continuous thanks of the Assistant Priest, Malin left the old estate.

As he stepped out the door, Malin looked back once more. The lights and the crowd before him seemed so surreal. Watching a family’s rise and fall until their curtain call, it all felt so absurd to him. Why does it always seem that good people do not enjoy longevity?

On the road, there were carriages speeding by, filled with young people. Malin watched as one particular carriage disappeared into the snowstorm, their laughter and curses gradually fading away.

Why do such parasites thrive?

These young people, intoxicated with wealth, compared to those standing in the trenches in the snow fighting against Chaos for this world... Are they really the same kind as those living in the same era?

Malin looked down, not knowing what to say. In the end, he stood up and prepared to return to his residence.

Because some things, you just can’t explain nor express clearly.

After walking a short distance in the snowstorm, he stopped as the sound of an approaching carriage’s axle grew closer. Malin turned to see the carriage stopping by the roadside in front of him.

Through the open carriage window, a piece of black bread was thrown out, landing on the ground in front of Malin with a crisp sound. After bouncing twice, it stopped, ending its slightly bizarre journey.

"Hey, serf, this is for you to eat," the young lady inside the carriage seemed quite satisfied with the benevolence she had shown. The young man by her side glared at Malin, "You! Pick up my fiancée’s kindness quickly!"

Malin didn’t move, standing in the dim area between two streetlights, hidden in his hood as he scratched his stubble.

"Hey, serf, don’t be ungrateful," the carriage driver rested his hand on the holster at his waist.

Malin sighed deeply, finally bent down to pick up the black bread, brushed off the snow and mud on it, and then forcefully broke it open.

· Malin, remember, never waste food, no matter what.

He still remembered the Headmaster saying that, like a grandmother or mother figure, which ultimately made Malin not defy her admonition.

He ate the pieces of bread one by one, swallowing them down. He glanced at the young lady and man in the carriage and shook his head.

Do you know, today’s lunch for the soldiers of the Keders group, two people, two bowls of wooden stem soup, one piece of black bread.

You don’t know; you wouldn’t want to understand, and you’ll never hear someone mentioning it.

You live in your world, where there is no pain, no suffering, only the glamorous life of wealth and luxury.

"Thank you for the hospitality."

Having said that, Malin continued on his journey. Walking under the light, the red in Malin’s eyes gradually dissipated as he moved through the darkness, pulling his hood lower.

Anxious officers rushed by with buckets of water, brushing past Malin.

Bippo looked back at the road they had come from. In its dark eyes, the flame on the carriage burned fiercer and fiercer. The officers’ buckets of water were unable to save such a raging flame.

The carriage door did not open; the carriage driver futilely pulled at the door until the leaping flames completely enveloped him. The War Practitioner turned towards here, extended a hand in vain, but ultimately shattered on the ground under Bippo’s gaze.

Bippo grinned, climbing onto Malin’s shoulder. Eager to check on his master, it found no change in him, his smile as usual, his eyes still full of belief, just as when it first saw him.

Bippo muttered, its sharp teeth gone, the Octagram on its forehead vanished, as it burrowed back into Malin’s backpack, somewhat sullen.

The summons from his master prompted Bippo to chirp once, settling back onto Malin’s shoulder.

This time, being scratched under the chin by his master delighted the little fellow so much that he began to laugh joyfully, also hearing his master’s whisper.

"Remember, Bippo, I will not submit to Chaos and evil, I swear to ring their death knell with my own hands, I will smash this old era, I will personally forge civilization anew, no one can stop me."

Bippo blinked, eventually choosing to squint his eyes and enjoy the caress of his master.

Early the next morning, as Malin descended the stairs, he noticed a gnome beside Elisa, "Good morning, Mr. Messenger, what brings you here?"

He smiled as he walked down the steps, greeting the gnome.

"Sir Malin, His Majesty requests your presence," stated the gnome, mopping the sweat from his forehead incessantly. It seemed peculiar for Mr. Messenger to show signs of weakness, sweating even in such cold weather.

"I understand," Malin nodded with a smile, "after I have my breakfast."

With that, he strode towards the long table.

"No, Sir Malin, His Majesty requests that you come immediately," the gnome added.

Malin ignored him, taking his place at the head of the long table, and glanced at Elisa, "Miss Elisa, what have you prepared for me today?"

"As per your request, two main dishes and one soup, so today I’ve prepared an omelet, Farole sausages, and your favorite pea soup," the Head Maid responded with a smile while her maids brought the prepared food to the table.

"Sir Malin, His Majesty asks that you come immediately, now, right away, please, Sir Malin," the gnome’s voice was somewhat fragile; he called out to Malin in a meek tone.

Completely ignoring the messenger’s voice, Malin rolled the sausage in his unfolded omelet and took a bite with his fork. Bippo, at Malin’s side, was enjoying his portion of the sausage and sizing up the gnome who was hardly taller than he was.

As the gnome opened his mouth to speak again, Bippo opened his jaws wide, his mouth full of sharp teeth causing the gnome to scream and fall back onto the floor, retreating to a corner.

"What’s the matter, Mr. Messenger?" Malin asked, biting into a piece of sausage and sprinkling just the right amount of salt into his soup bowl—one aspect of his morning routine that Malin found particularly satisfying.

"Your pet..." "Is my companion, Bippo is my companion, and he’s very adorable," Malin corrected.

Bippo turned to look at Malin, beaming happily.

Having corrected Mr. Messenger and emptied his soup bowl, Malin fed the last few slices of sausage to Bippo with his fork.

Then Malin stood up, took off his robe, and handed it to Elisa, "Wash this for me, I’ll be back tonight."

"Yes, sir, when you return, you will find your favorite robe at its very best," the Head Maid assured as she took Malin’s robe.

Fio and Lorrin helped Malin dress in the ceremonial garb of the Goddess of Harvest’s High Priest.

Melo passed his master the sword gifted by the Lord of Justice, which his master buckled to his belt’s loop.

Mana handed her master his spectacles and personally placed them on him.

Malin approached the gnome, with an imposing portal opening behind him. A squad of paladins from the Church of the Lord of Justice stood behind Malin, the leading young Knight gesturing a salute to Malin in silence.

"Mr. Messenger, didn’t you say that His Majesty Manheim wanted to see me? Show me the way, Mr. Messenger, don’t just sit there foolishly."

In the messenger’s eyes, Sir Malin, silhouetted against the light, revealed a thoroughly pleased smile.

"Stand up," he said while extending his hand to pull the gnome to his feet, "Let’s not keep His Majesty Manheim and the lords waiting any longer."
