Huo Shaohua finished washing up and came to the dining room to have breakfast.
He only saw his grandmother, but not Tian Xingyun.
Where did that woman go?
"Good morning, Grandma," Huo Shaohua sat down, picked up the chopsticks, and started eating breakfast, keeping an eye on his surroundings.
"Good morning," Grandma nodded.
Huo Shaohua wanted to ask Grandma where Tian Xingyun was, but he couldn’t bring himself to ask.
"Xingyun went to the hospital," Grandma smiled and said.
"Hmm," Huo Shaohua responded softly.
She must be avoiding him on purpose, otherwise why did she leave so early?
"Be kinder to Xingyun. Her emotions can’t be too low during pregnancy," Grandma said.
No need to think about it, leaving Xingyun alone with Shaohua would surely end in her being wronged.
"She brought it on herself. I didn’t bully her," Huo Shaohua put down the chopsticks and took a tissue to wipe his mouth.
"I’m heading to the office," Huo Shaohua got up and left. Allowing Tian Xingyun into the Huo Family was already his limit.
There was no way he’d be pleasant to her. The one he loved was Song Yi, not Tian Xingyun.
Tian Xingyun was just a stain in his life.
Grandma sighed as she looked at his departing figure, worrying.
Xingyun wasn’t that bad, why couldn’t he treat her better?
Tian Xingyun came back to the Huo Family straight from her check-up at the hospital.
She handed the test results to Grandma, and everything was normal.
"That’s great," Grandma couldn’t stop smiling at the small black dot on the ultrasound scan.
That’s her little golden grandchild. In a few months, she would get to see it.
"Grandma, can I go out to play for a few days? I will be careful with my health," Tian Xingyun took a deep breath and said, promising Grandma she would protect herself carefully.
"Of course. Let Shaohua go with you," Grandma agreed.
They should’ve gone out and played for a few days anyway.
"Thank you, Grandma!" Tian Xingyun smiled happily. As long as Grandma agreed, everything else would be easy.
She would finish up quickly on the cruise ship and return early.
To avoid any suspicion.
"Go to the company later and ask Shaohua to take a few days to accompany you."
"I’ll wait for him to come home," Tian Xingyun tactfully refused to go to the Huo Group.
There was a clause in the agreement Huo Shaohua made her sign that she was not allowed to appear at the company.
Let alone appearing in public with him, especially at the Huo Group.
"Fine, we can talk when he comes home tonight," Grandma originally wanted Tian Xingyun to get familiar with the Huo Group.
"Doesn’t he come home for lunch?" Tian Xingyun was a bit surprised. She thought he would come home for lunch.
"It wastes time to go back and forth. He eats lunch at the office."
"Then I’ll take him lunch!" Tian Xingyun suggested. She didn’t have much time and couldn’t wait until evening.
The cruise ship was leaving tomorrow. She had to return to the ship tonight to prepare.
"Sure, I’ll have the kitchen prepare it, and you can take it to him."
"Okay," Tian Xingyun nodded, feeling inexplicably nervous.
Andy came into the office holding a stack of files, looking troubled.
"President Huo, I’m going for lunch. Do you want me to book a restaurant for you?"
"The boss hasn’t eaten yet, and you’re going to eat first? Does that make sense?" Huo Shaohua glanced up at Andy, then lowered his head to continue reading the files.
"President Huo, this is exploiting employees!" Andy protested.
"Isn’t the compensation I give you good?"
"Very good," Andy admitted, the salary at the Huo Group was indeed very high.
But high pay should also come with rest time for employees.
He hadn’t been home for two days, working overtime all this while.
President Huo was clearly giving him a hard time on purpose.
"Have the cafeteria send lunch up, and only eat after you finish your work!"
"Yes, President Huo!" Andy sulkily carried the files out of the office.
