Stop Hypnotizing Me, Villainous Princess! Chapter 236

Chapter 236: Chapter 172: A Heart-Wrenching Scene

Inside the interrogation room, Lynn sat dozing off in the chair.

He had been brought here—into this prison, and locked in this interrogation room—after being taken away by the substitute punishers from Hillena’s mansion last night.

No one had come to interrogate him all night, as if they had completely forgotten about Lynn Bartleion.

Lynn was actually somewhat curious about it.

He also wondered what kind of methods these people would use to interrogate him.

That being said, he knew they didn’t have much time to work with him.

His capture was an attempt by those hidden manipulators lurking in the shadows to weaken the vital forces of Ivyst.

However, such tactics were ultimately petty and insignificant.

Because he was neither Amputator Burshman nor had he committed those murders.

With a little investigation, the truth would come out easily.

Furthermore, even if they wanted to pin the blame on him, it would be futile.

Because Amputator Burshman was still wreaking havoc in the Imperial Capital.

If they rushed to close the case, the next time a crime occurred, the public and nobles’ backlash would completely overwhelm them.

Not to mention, Princess Hillena was exerting political pressure from outside.

Therefore, these people would not dare to overstep the mark.

Even if the substitute punishers had received orders to arrest him, they would eventually have to release him if they couldn’t prove his guilt once the time limit was exceeded.

It was precisely because he had figured this out in advance that Lynn had defiantly come to this dreadful place with them.

Of course, the main reason was to prevent the plot from deviating further.

With this in mind, Lynn expressionlessly placed his handcuffed hands on the table and gently tapped the tabletop with his fingertips.

In the empty interrogation room, the monotonous sound echoed.

He estimated that it was almost time.

After a while, Lynn suddenly thought as much.

A moment later, under his gaze, the door to the interrogation room—which had been closed all night—suddenly opened.

Fresh air from outside poured in, causing Lynn’s spirits to lift slightly, and he became somewhat more alert.

He then saw a blonde, uniformed young man appear at the doorway, escorted by several military personnel and members of the substitute punishers.

Lynn narrowed his eyes slightly.

He hadn’t expected it to be this guy coming to interrogate him.

After all, the substitute punishers and the Military Department were part of different systems; in theory, this young man shouldn’t have had jurisdiction here.

With a hint of puzzlement, Lynn sat up straighter and, with interest, propped his chin on his hand to meet Xiya’s gaze.

“I’ll handle the interrogation myself. The rest of you wait outside.”

Xiya spoke to the people behind him.

After receiving an affirmative nod from the substitute punishers, the door slowly closed.

Leaving only the blonde young man standing calmly before Lynn, looking down at him from a position of authority.

Yes, the blonde young man who had just appeared was none other than Tiya’s long-admired Hero, and also the male protagonist of the original novel.

The atmosphere became somewhat silent for a moment.

After a short while, Xiya pulled out a chair and sat down opposite him with the poised posture of a soldier.

“I didn’t expect our first real meeting would be under these circumstances.”

“Nor did I expect it would be you interrogating me,” Lynn replied.

Xiya gave him a glance, a trace of coldness flashing in his eyes.

Clearly, just seeing this guy made him subconsciously remember what had happened at the Jump Transition Matrix, inexplicably stirring some restlessness in his heart.

Because ever since that day, Tiya had started acting strangely.

Moreover, considering last night’s banquet, she had received an invitation but had not attended.

Not only that, but when he later went to see her, she had refused him entry in a very odd manner.

Such a thing would have been impossible before.

Thus, it was inevitable for Xiya to conceive some unpleasant suspicions.

Although he didn’t believe Tiya would be unfaithful, he was certain that ever since Lynn had entered his life, things around him had started to go awry.

That was why Xiya had taken the initiative to apply for the task of interrogating the man before him.

“You seem very calm?” Xiya asked in a detached manner.

“Of course, because I haven’t killed anyone,” Lynn replied with a slight smile. “Captain, I presume you’ve come to Punisher Prison today to clear my name?”

Xiya didn’t respond, his face expressionless.

However, inside he felt some contempt.

This guy was practically a dead man walking, yet he was oblivious.

But outwardly, he didn’t show this thought, replying in a very formal manner, “We’ll know if you’ve committed murder after I’ve finished asking my questions.”

As he spoke, he took out a stack of photographs from his pocket and spread them out like a deck of cards in front of Lynn on the table.

Lynn looked down at them, raising an eyebrow slightly.

The photographs depicted gory scenes, involving both men and women, but they had all been beheaded and lost their limbs, arranged within symbols representing the King of Cruelty Kushustan and were missing body parts.

“These are military personnel who have recently fallen victim to Amputator Burshman,” said Xiya as he pushed one of the photographs forward. “Johnny Viller, a lieutenant, worked in the Special Intelligence Service, and three months ago, during his vacation, was found dead in his apartment.”
