Stop Hypnotizing Me, Villainous Princess! Chapter 244

Chapter 244: Chapter 178: Scapegoat Xiya

Difficulties from the Imperial Council?

After Tiya had left, Lynn tapped the tabletop lightly with his index finger while contemplating the information she had just given him.

It seemed that the next morning, a noble councilor would personally attend and interrogate him.

At that time, the Three Great Churches as well as the Military Department, along with a few princes and princesses interested in the matter, would probably be present to certify the proceedings.

Perhaps it was out of a deep-seated fear of Ivyst’s growing strength that the Imperial Council decided to use a slow-boiling frog approach to gradually weaken her power.

In other words, they were forcing her to make a choice.

And the choices presented before her were bound to be no-win situations.

At this moment, trapped as he was, Princess probably felt that she had lost her balance.

He could only hope she would not do anything rash.

Because up to this point, everything was still under his control.

As for the little interlude that had just occurred, it was nothing more than an impromptu addition to his plan.

Additionally… solve the case in three days?

Lynn leaned back in his chair, deep in thought.

Logically speaking, even an ordinary case, from the start of investigation to resolution, would require at least several weeks.

Not to mention a case involving the Amputator.

If he were to follow the standard procedure, even Lynn would be helpless.

After all, this was a year and a half unsolved serial murder case, and other than the incompetence of those secret organizations in the Imperial Capital, there might be other possibilities.

Given the efficiency and execution power of the state machinery, it would be hard to encounter any obstacles if they truly wanted to accomplish something.

Unless… there were some broken parts in the machinery.

According to Lynn’s guess, certain councilor families from the Imperial Council were privy to the inside story of Amputator Burshman, and might even be colluding with the Demon Clan.

This was not something unusual.

Therefore, the idea of catching the Amputator within three days was nothing short of a fantasy.

Those fools were simply giving their actions a semblance of legitimacy to seem reasonable, while in fact presenting difficult challenges to Ivyst.

Princess had never had an easy time in the Imperial Capital.

Even after he had established his authority in the Council Hall that day, the situation had not improved.

Thus, Lynn remained alone in the interrogation room, sitting for several hours, deep in his thoughts.

Surprisingly, during this process, the Heavenly Principle Church had not sent any interrogators over.

It seemed that Connor, the old fox, was even smarter than he had thought.

After an unclear amount of time, figured by Lynn’s own sense of body time to be around evening, someone finally broke the silence in the interrogation room.

The one opening the door was the aged substitute punisher responsible for leading the way, now looking at him with a gloomy gaze.

“It’s time to return to your cell,” he said in a hoarse voice.

Despite his frail appearance, Lynn was certain that the man had strength comparable to a Fourth Rank Transcendent, if not stronger.

After all, there were very few prison guards and wardens to be seen throughout the prison.

Other than this old man’s overwhelming strength, Lynn could think of no other possibility.

And since he could not use his Extraordinary Ability at the moment, even if he could, a Second Rank like himself would not be able to defeat a Fourth Rank, let alone this inscrutable old fellow.

So, he did not resist and stood up quietly, following behind him.

The substitute punisher’s prison was like an intricately descending underground labyrinth, countless times larger than Augusta Manor, and it was hard to imagine how it had been constructed.

“Which councilor will it be coming tomorrow?”

Lynn, wearing shackles and following behind the aged substitute punisher, asked with disinterest.

The Imperial Council consisted of twelve seats, not filled through elections, but rather held by twelve ancient and enormous families serving as councilors.

Even the Mosgla family had no qualifications to be among them, simply because it lacked heritage, being considered upstarts with unstable foundations in the eyes of these families.

And it was only by knowing which family the opponent came from that one could get a glimpse of the hostile forces behind the scenes.

Seeing his demeanor, the old man cackled, “You seem quite confident? Thinking you have the Third Prince to rely on?”

The old man’s mocking laughter was sinister and uncomfortable.

Lynn shrugged, “Let’s just consider it a chat.”

Upon hearing this, the old man laughed even more joyfully, “Blake Cortes.”

A name Lynn had never heard before.

Just as Lynn was about to continue asking, he suddenly saw the old man stop walking.

Under his gaze, the old man slowly opened the large door to the prison.

“Here we are, go in.”

Looking at the situation inside the cell, Lynn couldn’t help but frown, “A communal cell? Isn’t this where ordinary criminals are kept? Why am I, who has not yet been convicted of a special crime, not in a solitary cell?”

The aging substitute punisher still had a physiologically disturbing smile on his face but did not answer Lynn’s question.

Seeing this, Lynn was expressionless, “I want to see the Princess.”

The menacing smile on the aging substitute punisher’s face did not fade, and a hint of murderous intent seemed to emanate from him.

It was as if he was forcing Lynn.

Seeing this, Lynn couldn’t help but look displeased, his expression ice-cold, “Who instructed you?”

The smile finally disappeared from the face of the aging substitute punisher, with a chilling and terrifying expression.

At the same time, a discomfort as if a knife was being pressed against his throat spread throughout Lynn’s body.

Under the pressure of this force, his body trembled slightly, his complexion became extremely pale, and a look of anger flashed in his eyes.

He murmured these words, then turned and walked towards the communal cell in front of him.

After his figure disappeared into the cell, the sinister voice of the aging substitute punisher faintly followed, “Welcome to… Glostit.”

With a muffled sound, the door was shut heavily.

The next second, the anger and helplessness that had lingered on Lynn’s face disappeared in an instant, replaced by a calm demeanor.

As if the reactions he had shown before the aging substitute punisher were all an act.

How could he, who remained composed in the presence of demons, be frightened by such riffraff?

He was just worried that a too calm demeanor might make the other party suspicious, resulting in him not being allowed to stay in this communal cell.

At this moment, in the spacious and dirty cell, more than thirty ragged inmates looked over at him with flickering gazes.

One of the burly men slowly stood up, a dangerous look appearing in his eyes.

But upon seeing that the person in front of them was just a skinny youth who looked incapable of any resistance, he couldn’t help but laugh.

The thirty-some vicious inmates laughed together.

They had thought that with such a big commotion, even offering reduced sentences as an incentive to mobilize them, they were dealing with some extremely dangerous character.

It turned out to be a little guy who looked incapable of killing a chicken.

Usually, he’d simply be their plaything for sexual release.

The atmosphere became somewhat relaxed.

Not only were they amused, but Lynn also laughed.

It’s like someone delivering a pillow when he wanted to sleep.

He had just casually slung some mud at Xiya, and now someone was eagerly coming forward to provide evidence.

He absolutely adored those idiots hiding behind the scenes.

However, to prevent Tiya from finding any flaws and to maximize the deviation of the plot, he had to make sure these guys died without evidence.

With this in mind, Lynn clenched his fists.

(ps: Encountered a transitional plot while typing, the word “Carven” as strong as a monster, fought with all might but could not defeat.)
