The sky, shrouded in mist, seemed to announce the approach of autumn rain.
Yet inside the small health clinic, Zhang Xiaoshan was bustling about with fiery enthusiasm.
Strange noises, a mix of pain and pleasure, seeped out from the thin wooden door.

Hu Qiaoling then called out to the clinic.

Upon hearing Hu Qiaoling’s voice, Zhang Xiaoshan was taken aback.
Why had Hu Qiaoling come as well?
And how had she and Tao Qian ended up together?
Zhang Xiaoshan was surprised.
"Wait a moment," he replied.
Wu Xiaoru climbed up from the small bed, her face awash with panic.
"Go through the window," suggested Zhang Xiaoshan as he helped Wu Xiaoru out the window.
The clinic’s backyard was a large cornfield, yet to be harvested, and she made her way into it.
Just as she was about to leave, her legs gave out, and she fell to the ground.
"That Zhang Xiaoshan, he’s just too much," she complained, cautiously moving to the side of the clinic.
Peering through gaps in the cornstalks, she could see two pretty women standing at the clinic’s entrance, frequently scanning their surroundings.
"Looks like it’s Wu Biao’s sister-in-law and Li Erniu’s wife. What are they doing here? Seeking medical attention? But why are they sneaking around?"
