“You look really good today,” Xu Qing sized up Mo Yan and complimented her.
Mo Yan had always denied her good looks and put little effort into makeup or styling, usually going to work bare-faced with a simple ponytail. However, she was pretty by nature.
Putting on makeup made her dazzlingly gorgeous, especially her pair of big, sparkling eyes, which were especially cute.
Mo Yan lowered her head and looked at her light blue dress. She mostly wore clothes for commuting and had few dresses suitable for such a grand occasion. In contrast, Mo Lian had a wardrobe full of limited edition dresses.
“Since I’ve already decided to participate in the charity gala, I must treat it seriously.” Mo Yan’s eyes were fixed, and a quiet smile hung on her face.
“You’d better be careful. After all…” Xu Qing sighed, thinking about the Mo family and their antics. Although it was a charity gala on the front, it was in fact a banquet set up to scheme against others.
“I know.” Mo Yan nodded. As soon as she went downstairs, she met Li Guoguo, who had been waiting for her for a long time.

The charity gala was scheduled to be held on the first floor of a famous five-star hotel. Mo Yan arrived a little late. When she arrived, she saw that Mo Lian was already waiting for her outside, and her face showed some impatience.

Mo Yan replied softly, “Yes, I didn’t dress as well as you did. With your set of clothes, those who don’t know that you are attending the charity gala would think that you are attending a peacock exhibition.”
“You!” Mo Lian was so angry that she stomped her feet.
“I’ll go in first. If you don’t feel embarrassed about remaining outside, you can continue standing there.” After saying that, Mo Yan walked in without looking back. The charity gala was about to start, so she had no time to argue with Mo Lian.
Mo Lian’s face was flushed red. She had wanted to humiliate Mo Yan earlier, but she unexpectedly failed to do so. If she stayed in public any longer, she would only make a fool of herself.
Mo Lian took a few quick steps and caught up to Mo Yan. She gritted her teeth and glared at her. “Mo Yan, just you wait. I won’t let you be so smug all the time.”
Mo Yan only smiled, and the two of them entered the main hall one after the other.
