Suddenly, I Am Rich Chapter 293

By the next morning, the story about what had happened had already reached the internet.

At first, it started small. Some customers who were there uploaded some short clips on social media. Some of them looked even blurry and shaky. But as hours passed, those videos spread like wildfire.

It didn’t take long before the headlines began appearing across different online platforms.

"Grocery Store Owner Steps In To Protect Woman During Domestic Dispute. Is This A New Standard for Leadership?"

"Public Applauds Young Entrepreneur Who Defended Abused Shopper at Grand Opening"

"Conrad Everett’s Protegé Shows What Real Management Looks Like"

The clips circulating online showed everything, even though most of them were low quality. Even if no one posted the full video, people were able to piece it together from different clips.

They saw how the man entered, yelling at the entrance, harassing his wife, to the moment Gray punched him in the jaw, and finally, when Gray knelt beside the crying woman afterward.

The sequence of events played like an action movie in their mind. It was as if Gray suddenly became an action star, one that had everyone talking.

It was also the reason why comments poured into the comment section of every post:

"He didn’t even hesitate. That’s what you call real courage."

"It’s rare to see someone in his position actually step in like that."

"Imagine having a boss who handles things like this. Respect."

"Conrad Everett sure knows how to pick the right people."

"He didn’t just talk about integrity, but he showed it. He even saved the poor woman!"

Others shared the story with captions like "Faith in humanity restored" and "This man deserves a medal."

Even snippets of Joel helping the woman pack her groceries went viral. The people pointed out how the employees followed Gray’s example with empathy instead of fear.

A few news programs picked it up for their evening segment. One of the reporters who had been at the event earlier spoke in front of the store, recounting the scene with careful enthusiasm.

"What was meant to be a simple opening ceremony turned into a display of courage and compassion from the store’s young owner, Gray Adams. Witnesses say he didn’t hesitate to intervene when a woman was assaulted by her husband. Videos of the event have now garnered over half a million views online."

Meanwhile, the first branch’s official page also exploded with followers. Dozens of comments came in from people saying they planned to visit the store out of respect or curiosity.

"This is the closest branch to me! I watched the video and all I could say is that I’ll support this store from now on."

"That’s the kind of business I want to buy from."

"They just earned my trust."

Back at the branch, Joel and Gray were in the store. Joel was scrolling through his phone. He chuckled softly as he turned the screen toward Gray.

"Boss, you’re all over the internet."

Gray glanced at the screen. There was a flood of notifications, headlines, and video thumbnails of him. He stared at it for a few seconds before exhaling quietly.

"I already saw that," he murmured before shaking his head. "People must have seen that too." He could only sigh.

Joel grinned. "It seemed like you’ll be more popular, boss. Our stores would surely get attention because of it!"

Gray couldn’t help but laugh under his breath. "Yeah... popular," he said, half amused, half tired.

But the truth was, it was turning into a pain in the ass.

By noon, his phone hadn’t stopped receiving notifications that he had to silence it.

Reporters kept calling him. Some were from local news outlets, while there was also from online publications asking for a statement or a sit-down interview. His inbox was filled with requests titled "We’d love to hear your side of the story" or "Can we feature your act of heroism?"

One even asked if he’d be open to doing a morning talk show.

He rubbed his temples, staring at the flood of messages like they were multiplying by the minute.

It wasn’t that he didn’t appreciate the attention, but all he wanted was for the store to run smoothly. Not to become some viral "CEO who threw a punch."

"Unbelievable," he muttered, setting his phone down on the counter. He exhaled and turned to Joel, who was still grinning like it was the best news of the week.

"Joel can you call Mara?" Gray said after a moment. "Tell her to handle all of the request I’m getting first. I don’t have time for interviews right now."

"Got it, Sir," Joel said, still clearly entertained.

After a second, he called Mara, who was in the office. She was handling paperworks, so Gray didn’t need to focus on them much. After all, Gray was busy making sure the 2nd store was running smoothly.

Even so, Gray had to admit. If there was one good thing that came out of the whole mess that happened yesterday, it was the store’s sudden popularity.

By the second day, the place was packed. People came not just to shop but to "see the store that went viral." Some even took pictures outside like it was a tourist spot.

Gray watched that from the side. It might not be that good for him who doesn’t want the spotlight, but it was good for business, no doubt. The shelves were running out of stock faster than they’d expected, and Joel looked like he could barely keep up.

Still, Gray wasn’t sure if he should be happy about it. He didn’t know if the incident was a blessing or a curse. But for now, all he could do was ride the wave and hope it didn’t crash on him later.

’Oh well...’ Gray let out a long sigh, rubbing the back of his neck. After a few minuted, he sighed once more and finally pushed himself up from his seat.

Joel looked up from his phone. "Where are you going, boss?" he asked, raising a brow.

Gray gave him a flat look. "We’re supposed to be working, Joel."
