The Thompson Family members were now uneasy, and no one knew what to say. They couldn’t believe it – Peter Brown had said that this was just a minor issue, and even mentioned Thomas Woods by name. If he wasn’t a well-connected person, he wouldn’t even know this name. But, if they believe him, Peter is just a small farmer!
Is this even something a small farmer can do?
Dora Wright stared blankly at Henry Martin, not knowing what to say.
Scenes from her youth emerged in her mind, and she knew the power of the Woods very well. The more she knew, the more mysterious Peter became, and she even felt a sense of awe towards him.
What kind of farmer was this!
Henry Martin was also somewhat stunned at this moment. He didn’t expect the situation to take such a dramatic turn. He had merely asked his son to make a phone call, not truly believing that Peter could have a significant impact, but...
Henry Martin’s heart was full of shock.
"Everyone, go on and disperse. Go back to your own work."
Henry Martin waved his hand, and everyone, who had been in chaos for a few days and whose hearts were weary, was starting to feel overwhelmed.
Henry Martin had his own judgment about this matter. He had already believed Peter could handle the situation when he heard Thomas Woods’ name mentioned by Peter.
Henry Martin also remembered some events from his younger days. Actually, the Thompson Family was also an inherited family, but it had declined by the time it came to Edward Martin. The Thompson Family had also lost utterly in its struggle with the Woods.
However, due to their worldly connections, they weren’t entirely defeated by Thomas Woods.
So many years had passed!
He looked over at Dora Wright, and she also looked at him. Their eyes held too much content.
Dora Wright looked at their children and said, "Alright, whether it’s good or bad, it is what it is. Everyone go and rest."
The couple had a lot to talk about, and now that Peter had appeared, they both saw something special that needed a good exchange of thoughts.
Edward Martin had his own residence. He came out of the house, somewhat dazed, and wanted to call Peter to find out more details. However, he hesitated for a moment and decided to call Heidi Jones instead to ask her.
Edward realized that Heidi Jones also had a connection to Peter, or else Peter wouldn’t be so supportive of her.
As he walked out, he saw that a few young masters, who usually followed him closely, were heading towards the Cao family.
These young masters were laughing and joking all the way, but when they saw Edward, they all turned their heads, pretending not to have seen him.
Edward usually hung out with these people and wanted to greet them, but when he saw their attitude, he sighed in disappointment. There was a significant change in them.
What disappointed Edward even more was that they acted as if they hadn’t seen him, completely without a greeting, and walked far away.
Edward sighed in his heart and continued walking outwards.
He had taken a taxi back yesterday, and his car hadn’t been brought over, so he had to walk towards the exit of the big courtyard.
Along the way, Edward’s mood became even worse. Those who usually showed enthusiasm towards him today all seemed to be ignoring him. They laughed and walked as they should, but not one person greeted him like they used to.
People can be so fickle!
As Edward walked, his expression became even more unkind.
After thinking about it, Edward decided to test the situation with some of his previously close friends.
However, when he called them, the tones they used had changed from their previous enthusiasm to coldness. Some even didn’t answer his calls at all.

Edward was genuinely furious – he had never imagined that things would come to this point.
"Oh, isn’t this Young Master Edward? What happened, I heard your family’s master... Sigh, I don’t know what you’ll do after he’s gone! Haha."
