At a time when people in the township were secretly competing, an unexpected deputy arrived out of the blue.
Peter Brown didn’t find out about this until he was called into a meeting after arriving at his office. The newcomer was named Esme Carter, a young man wearing designer clothes, and he was astonishingly accompanied by the county Party Organization Department head.
Seeing that the leading members of the township had arrived, Department Head Jasper Smith looked at everyone and announced the appointment document from the county.
Peter Brown noticed that Esme Carter kept looking in his direction as Jasper Smith made the announcement.
After the announcement, Jasper Smith continued, "Comrades, Comrade Esme Carter is from the province. He has a high education background and will undoubtedly contribute to our development here. Everyone must unite, think and strive in the same direction...."
Everyone’s gaze fell curiously on Esme Carter, even Alexander Lee and Eleanor Smith looked at him with friendly expressions, which led Peter Brown to wonder if this guy might have some significant background.
After the meeting, Alexander Lee and Eleanor Smith expressed their stance, saying they would unite with their comrades and so on.
Jasper Smith didn’t stay, but before leaving, he went up to Esme Carter, patted his shoulder, and chatted for a while.
Jasper Smith’s behavior further indicated that Esme Carter was someone with a powerful background.
It was evident, the newcomer had a powerful background, and the information he released had informed everyone to be careful with him.
As Jasper Smith left, to Peter Brown’s surprise, Esme Carter walked towards him.
"Brother Wang, I’ll be following you from now on."
The unexpected words caused everyone to look stunned, and Peter Brown furrowed his brows, looking at Esme Carter.
Esme just grinned and whispered, "I’ll follow your lead next."
Hearing this, Peter sighed secretly, suspecting that his plans for personal cultivation were about to be disrupted now that this guy seemed to have recognized him.
Peter simply smiled and didn’t say anything.
Esme did not say much, either, giving off a leisurely air.
Alexander Lee’s attitude toward Esme Carter was wholly different from how he treated Peter Brown, addressing him as Mayor Lu , while trying to get close to him. Eleanor Smith also dropped her reserve and chatted with Esme, wearing a smile on her face.
Peter Brown didn’t want to say much and went into his office.
Sitting in the office, Peter shook his head. He could tell from Esme’s attitude that this guy must have discovered his identity from somewhere and wanted to get close to him.
Wait and see. If his identity was exposed, he would leave.
Peter felt a little helpless. His fame was too widespread now, and after the live broadcast, too many people had seen his face. To hide, he would have to change his appearance.
Not long after sitting down, a voice came from outside the door, followed by Esme Carter and Hugh Hill entering the office.
"Brother Wang, I’ll be sharing an office with you too, haha."
Peter Brown looked on with annoyance as the township staff moved Esme Carter’s office desk and other belongings inside.

Peter Brown had no choice but to nod and say, "Anyway, the office is spacious. It doesn’t matter."
Soon, Esme Carter’s office desk and other items were settled in.
