Countless warships filled the sky, heading towards Earth, emanating a terrifying fury. From the presence of these warships, it was clear that the Golden Horn People were enraged and wanted to destroy Earth completely.
Not only could people at the Command Headquarters see this, but these images were also displayed on massive screens around the world.
People all over the planet were terrified, having never seen so many warships arriving or such a massive fleet.
Thinking about these being the warships of the Golden Horn People coming to annihilate Earth, the entire planet went silent.
Now, everybody had abandoned the idea of fleeing. Faced with such an army, where could Earthlings run to or hide?
All countries had even given up resistance. Confronting the Golden Horn People, whose technology far surpassed Earth’s, any resistance was futile.
Now, Earthlings could only wait for the end to come.
Earthlings had never experienced such despair and helplessness before. Facing the interstellar enemy that swarmed like locusts, Earth’s technology paled in comparison, leaving them without any power to fight back.
Those who had once longed for the arrival of aliens were now filled with regret. They had never imagined that these newfound extraterrestrials would be so powerful and brutal.
However, there was nothing they could do now.
The soldiers on Earth were the most frustrated group. Although they had weapons in their hands, what could their weapons do?
The Biohumans had been wiped out, and The Cultivators had disappeared. The only remaining warships on Earth had been destroyed as well.
Time ticked by, and the fleet on screen approached Earth at breakneck speed. From the screen, everyone could see that the vessels filled the sky, blocking out the sunlight. The entire sky was filled with the warships of the Golden Horn People.
At this moment, Earth lost the sun’s illumination, and the whole planet became dim. If not for the streetlights, Earth would have been plunged into complete darkness.
Coldness swept in, and people put on their thick clothes, keeping their fearful gazes locked on the giant screens.
If there was anything Earthlings still had confidence in with regards to their technology, it was these massive screens. They could perfectly reflect the entire sky and were astonishingly clear.
At this point, the governments of various countries had stopped making statements, as their words were now useless.
The countdown to doom had begun.
Eminent figures at the Hua Nation’s Command Headquarters were staring at the screen as well.
"Is there really no way out?"
An elder broke the silence and asked.
With a bitter smile, a scientist replied, "Our technology is far behind theirs. It’s not even close."
Everyone sighed in their hearts.
"Those who were sent away have returned," an elder reported.
"We originally intended to send away some of the elites, but now it seems impossible!"
Alexander Carter bitterly smiled at this moment, "I shouldn’t have come to Earth for adventure. Sigh!"
He truly regretted it now. If he had stayed on Return-to-Earth Star, he wouldn’t be in any danger. But it was his desire to progress quickly that led him to venture into the vast cosmos.
The President looked at Alexander Carter with an apologetic expression, "We’re responsible for this. We never thought it would end ."
Alexander Carter bitterly smiled, "Peter Brown got me here and didn’t care anymore. I have no idea where that kid went!"
Everyone shook their heads. If it weren’t for Peter Brown, Alexander Carter would have left after repairing his flying vehicle.
Speaking of Peter Brown made everyone sigh. He had always been a miracle-maker, but now, when Earth was at its most critical moment, he had vanished.
"What’s the situation with the general population now?" the President inquired.
"Not good. There have been disturbances in many places, but now things seem to have calmed down at the very end."
Looking at the incoming fleet of Golden Horn Star People, Alexander Carter commented, "I suspect their poisonous gas production is almost complete. However, based on their current actions, they don’t seem to want to use it immediately. Instead, they want to indiscriminately bombard Earth."
Thinking of the situation where this huge fleet would open fire together, everyone felt their scalps tingle. If that happened, just with one round of bombardment, more than half of the human species on Earth would be dead.
"Thankfully, Hua-Chinese People make up the population on Return-to-Earth Star, so our race will not be completely wiped out!"
The Vice President sighed and tried to console everyone this way.
"Strange, with their speed, they should have reached Earth by now, right?" A scientist questioned.
The President bitterly laughed, "They’re planning to use this slow approach to torture Earthlings before death."
Everyone agreed as soon as they heard this. The Golden Horn People were using this slow advance to torture Earthlings, wanting the entire human race to experience the fear before death.
An old man slammed his fist on the table and stood up.
But, looking at the enormous fleet, the old man sat down dejectedly.
What could they use to fight back?
They had a vast army, but even if they had a million soldiers, what could they do? The enemy had warships coming from the sky. Could Earthlings’ planes be effective?
In front of them, Earthlings’ army was merely a group of helpless infants.
Time passed, and an immense sense of oppression enveloped everyone. The entire human race fell into an extreme state of fear, never before having faced death so directly.
Suddenly, everyone’s gaze was drawn to the starry sky in the screen.
There, in a space that was once empty, a person stood.
"It’s true! There’s a person standing in the starry sky!"
Previously hopeless, people now opened their eyes wide to see the figure in the starry sky.
An incredibly astonishing sight unfolded before everyone’s eyes.
Before them, the starry sky was filled with warships, but the one facing them was a human standing in place.
Although a seemingly weak human, they defiantly stood in front of the warships.
Nobody would consider this standing figure weak. It was a scene of one person guarding the pass, making it impassable for thousands.
All people could see was this person’s back, not their face. But the appearance of such a person brought some hope to Earthlings.
What did he plan to do?
All Earthlings wondered about the actions of this suddenly appearing figure.
Could he really hold off the Golden Horn Fleet with the power of one person?
