"Hoh?" Layfon looked amused, observing the battle from the top of the hill.
After Nathan and the others lured the aliens from the hill, he sneaked to the top so that he had an easier time watching their battle.
"This is quite intriguing." Layfon's eyes first focused on Selena and the others. "Her Highness Flora is the vanguard, with Her Holiness Serafina supporting her. It doesn't seem to be much of a problem for them to defeat this warrior class alien.
"However, Her Highness Flora's main strength lies in that lightning element. If she gets some time to charge that power of hers, she can unleash a strike that is capable of killing the warrior class alien.
"Still, that power can't be unleashed easily because other aliens might sacrifice their lives just to protect the warrior class alien.
"With Her Holiness Serafina, I don't think she needs to charge her power. With those trap skills, she should be able to manage just fine. It will just take a bit longer than normal.
"Selena is watching from behind to not only act as a wall but also to react to any kind of unexpected threat. She can also turn around and help Nathan and Alavenya if necessary.
"But the most exciting thing about this strategy is…" Layfon fell silent, shifting his gaze to Noelle.
Brunhild, Yin Zhen, and Sasha unleashed everything they had, mowing down one alien after another. They overwhelmed the enemy's number with their strength, gradually opening the path for Noelle.
Behind them, Noelle, Murmur, and the War Horseman were following them without swinging their swords a single time. They were conserving their strength for what was to come.
Their role in this battlefield was to take down the warrior class alien as quickly as possible so that the group would have an easier time hunting the rest of the aliens. With Nathan and Alavenya planning to take down their respective enemy, Flora would be the only one left to complete the individual task. Even Nathan would think it was easy to complete it.
That was why, no matter how hard it was, they had to conserve their strength until they reached the warrior class alien. Besides, this plan allowed Noelle to kill the warrior class alien, and Selena could order Noelle either to take down the rest of the aliens or help Nathan and Alavenya after that.
"I was skeptical at first, but that Selena was truly an extraordinary child. Her talent was something I had never seen in this world. Satisfied, Layfon turned his head to Alavenya.
"Come on!" Alavenya shouted while punching the alien. The latter did the same thing, using his bigger body to overpower her. However, a dragon roar erupted from her fist, causing both of their fists to be knocked back.
Seeing that their clash was equal, both of them sent another fist… and another one… and another one.
They exchanged over twenty blows in less than ten seconds with everything they had. None of them were being pushed back.
However, the balance was soon broken the moment Alavenya activated the second part of her martial art again.
She first made it look like she was going to punch him, which resulted in the alien retaliating with the same move.
But at the last moment, she suddenly opened her fist and her other palm joined, hitting the alien's fist with both palms.
Then she twisted her hands and created a circular energy that almost tripped the humanoid alien.
Still, losing the balance just a bit was enough to weaken the punch drastically. She poured more ena and finally knocked the alien fist back without hers also getting knocked away.
She leaned forward and stomped the ground with her left foot. "Dragon Fist!"
While shouting, she struck the alien's abdomen with the Dragon Fist. The Dragon Fist not only roared, but it also exploded as she activated her own original martial technique, Second Drive.
"Haaaa!" She launched the alien away with that punch, causing its body to bounce a few times on the ground and crash into several trees before stopping.
"You're not getting away!" Alavenya grinned and disappeared from the battlefield again.
"As expected of the Dragon King's daughter… She is truly formidable. Once she becomes an arcane level summoner, she will be a tough opponent even for me." Layfon squinted his eyes. "I guess I don't have to worry about her. She will probably kill her opponent in fifteen minutes or so. It's a good record… so good, in fact, to the point where I can boldly say she won't have a problem in going into the alien territory.
"Of course, it might look like she is hurting herself, but as long as Nathan or Her Holiness Serafina is there, that's not a wound she has to worry about. Still, the monstrous one among them is…" Layfon squinted his eyes as his gaze shifted to Nathan.
The warrior class alien opened its mouth in all directions while Fenrir waved his paw from the right. It looked like the alien would bite Fenrir's paw, but all of a sudden, several bullets looped around his paw and hit the alien's mouth before exploding. The explosion closed a portion of its mouth and tilted its body slightly.
Fenrir grinned and just slapped the alien so hard that it rolled a few times.
Peng controlled the entire battlefield, especially the flame from both Jinwu and Nidhogg. He made sure that the flame didn't spread further than their battlefield while killing as many aliens as possible.
Jinwu and Nidhogg looked like they were having fun because not a single alien could match their power. Even mature class aliens were simply too weak against these two divine beasts.
There was nothing to be said about these familiars. Layfon was more fixated on Nathan. "As expected, he is the real monster among them…"
Nathan sent forth bullets after bullets not only to his familiars but also to assist Alavenya's familiar without harming the warrior class alien.
"How wide is his field of vision? More importantly, he perfectly cast a type of attack that will help the specific familiar. This is a different type of talent than the one Selena has, but in terms of commanding alone, he might be on par with or even surpass me. Still…" Layfon's expression turned solemn as he couldn't help but turn his head to the west.
There was one warrior class alien that didn't come to fight Selena and the others. Instead, it was running deep into the plain as though it was trying to do something. "That alien… might spell trouble."
