Mae paused for a moment before shaking her head. "I'm unable to discern its true nature.
"At the very least, it's not a divination."
"You can't?" Nathan was a bit troubled to not know about this dream, so he asked, "In that case, can you use my own memory and project it with your illusion? Although I have told them about the dream, they haven't seen it directly."
"Yes. I'm able to use my illusion that way."
"Then please do it." Nathan closed his eyes.
"Please remember that dream. I'll extract it from your mind." Mae placed both of her hands on the side of his head before activating her power.
A golden cloud came out of Nathan's head and gradually expanded, creating a projection of his memory for everyone to see.
Fenrir and the others couldn't help but grit their teeth when they saw the sheer number of enemies.
However, everyone noticed a detail that Nathan had missed.
"I can see those three people and why this world falls, but…" Fenrir squinted his eyes.
"Yeah." Anubis pointed at the projection. "We are not in your dream."
"Aren't we supposed to fight alongside you? Even if some of us die for one reason or another, at least one or two of us will survive together with you." Jinwu agreed.
"Indeed." Nidhogg nodded.
"From the looks of it, it doesn't look like a normal dream. If it's not a divination, it can be a memory of the future, but the problem is, as everyone has mentioned, the lack of our existence," suggested Peng.
Mae examined the dream carefully but couldn't find anything suspicious. "I'm not entirely sure if it's really a memory because of one reason. Although the dream has portrayed the army of aliens, it has also projected those three people. We don't even know who they are.
"Because it's a dream, I can't really see their karma, so I don't know how they're related to Master. It might also be another person's memory."
"Another person, huh? Someone who has a familiar that can control memory or something?" Fenrir asked.
"It's a possibility." Anubis agreed.
"It seems we need more clues to figure out what's going on with this dream." Nathan let out a long sigh.
"But it doesn't matter if we find it or not." Jinwu looked excited. "If those aliens come, I'm going to burn them. We just have to get stronger to do that."
"Indeed." Nidhogg nodded.
"And that's why we're going on a journey. To summon more familiars and increase our fighting prowess." Peng asked, "In that case, shouldn't we learn a bit more about the aliens? Humans possess little knowledge about aliens."
"Fair enough. Even though I have some knowledge about the aliens, we don't know what's going on with their worlds. Maybe we can set it as the second objective during our trip." Nathan added, "You can stop now, Mae."
"I understand." She retracted her ena.
"Still, we have some time before the trip to save Selena's father." Nathan raised one finger. "We'll use this time to improve our combat power."
Fenrir grinned. "Sure. I'm quite curious about this second drive. I will see if I can imitate it from Alavenya."
Anubis agreed. "After experiencing the battle in that fort, I have seen several soldiers with severed limbs. Normally, my power is able to help them regrow, but I start to think I might be able to reattach their limb as long as a long time hasn't passed."
Nidhogg sighed. "Although I'm too lazy to do it, I guess I will have to become serious for a while. The next trip is going to be hard, and the solo trip will be even harder after all."
"If even this lazy lizard goes all out, everyone has to work hard." Jinwu puffed his chest with his wing. "In that case, I will prepare something that will shock you."
"Leave it to us." Peng had the simplest reply. Even Peng wondered if he would be summoned by Nathan to practice anything.
Nathan nodded, satisfied. "That's right. Mae. Can you handle all kinds of jobs?"
"Most of the time, yes. I can handle administrative work or some odd job since I've been doing it for thousands of years."
"In that case, be my assistant for a bit. I'll introduce you to the others as well."
Nathan gradually rose from the ground. "Anyway, now that we have finished Mae's summoning, let's go back."
In the alien territory, Vivian was standing on top of an insect as big as a hill.
Melissa shouted from the bottom. "Vivian. Stop standing like a fool. Clean this up, will you?"
Vivian snapped her fingers, resulting in vines coming out of the insect body. There was a core at the tip of the vine and it was delivered right to Melissa. "Take it."
"I don't need an elite class alien core. I don't plan to continue polishing my strength. I'm satisfied with being an arcane level summoner." Melissa crossed her arms.
"This is the second elite class alien we encounter anyway, so you should take it." Vivian sighed. "Haven't you noticed how easy it is to find an elite class alien now? The number of aliens has also increased drastically…"
"What are you trying to say?" Melissa frowned.
"Nathan once said the fight against the aliens will become even more fierce from now on. There might be an unstoppable army of aliens coming in the future, so we have to get as strong as possible. I didn't think much back then, but I'm afraid it might become our reality soon."
"!!!" Melissa thought for a moment before grabbing the core. "Fine. I will take it. Now, let's go back. You have gathered everything, right?"
Vivian's fingers twitched as another vine emerged from the ground, lifting up a small boulder.
She placed her hand on that boulder and shattered it, revealing a yellow-colored crystal as big as a human head. She then put it inside her bag before answering Melissa, "Yeah. I'm done. Let's clean this up and return."
"That's what I've been saying this whole time. Stop acting like you're the leader and just get to work already!" Melissa snarled as though she wanted to bite Vivian.
