In an extremely short time, the drone went from a high-speed fall to an absolute hover, showcasing its powerful maneuvering abilities and robust structure. Once Yan Fei fully recovered his senses, he thought for a moment and the drone took off into the sky again, this time, however, he dared not re-enter the range of the thundercloud at one thousand meters.
The drone orbited around the thundercloud as Yan Fei began to observe the storm above. He noticed that lightning strikes were occurring incessantly within the cloud. The frequency was so high that one bolt of lightning scarcely ended before another began, causing the sky to blaze with the flash of electrical light constantly. An electric net formed by these lightning strikes enshrouded the entire sky, rendering it a hazy white.
Recalling the agony of the recent lightning strike, Yan Fei felt a residual fear. The night’s weather was too extreme, with the lightning occurring too frequently to consider passing through the area. If he forced his way through, the best possible outcome would be that the drone was struck by lightning but he would be unharmed; the worst would be that a chain of lightning strikes hit the drone and he was electrocuted.
Having just endured the terror of a lightning strike, Yan Fei no longer dared to taste such fear again. This meant his plan to quickly ascend to an altitude of thirty thousand meters and then flee Paris at high speed was now impractical, literally trapping him beneath this massive thunderstorm. His only chance to escape would be to power through with his own strength.
There was another method to leave the area, which was to use the drone to hover and fly under the thundercloud, waiting for the storm to dissipate naturally or for the frequency of the lightning within it to decrease. Then, the drone could ascend to thirty thousand meters and make a high-speed escape. This option was the most flawed, equivalent to leaving one’s destiny in the hands of fate, as no one could tell when the storm would fade or when the lightning would stop. The thundercloud and lightning could persist for days.
Moreover, having just sunk a U.S. Navy Perry-class frigate in this vicinity, the drone and US forces had become real enemies. The Americans would certainly not allow the drone to fly leisurely here; they would deploy ground anti-aircraft missiles against the drone, and the surrounding fighter jets would also launch missiles to attack it. So, waiting for the storm to dissipate naturally was out of the question for Yan Fei. Therefore, the only option left was to blast his way out using the drone’s martial force.
As Yan Fei was devising an action plan to leave the area, he noticed that from the group of fighter jets circling two hundred kilometers away, some planes broke off and joined together, forming a twenty-fighter attack formation. Under the command of an early warning aircraft outside the range of the thundercloud, they headed towards the drone over Paris.
The Drone Quantum Radar quickly scanned the area, and Yan Fei discovered that these twenty fighters were all the latest models of F-15s, which clearly indicated they were all part of the US Air Force stationed in Europe. These F-15s looked identical to Yan Fei’s drone in shape, but the drone was a size larger than them.

They fired AIM-120 Air-to-Air Missiles, with each fighter launching two, totaling forty missiles. These forty missiles, trailing flames, broke through the downpour and surged towards the drone. After launching the missiles, the twenty F-15s began to turn sharply, preparing to leave the area.
Yan Fei sneered in his heart, realizing that these F-15 Fighters intended to attack him by virtue of their numerical superiority. Hence, they launched the missiles just within the AIM-120’s maximum attack distance and fired forty in one go. But what they didn’t count on was the drone’s complete immunity to incoming missiles, thanks to its all-powerful countermeasure—Quantum Radar paired with a 30-millimeter naval cannon. So no matter how many Air-to-Air Missiles they sent, all would be destroyed; they were simply incapable of causing any significant harm to the drone.
