While advancing, Long Chen sensed danger and immediately warned Chu Lingjun. Upon hearing his words, she quickly picked up her speed to keep up with him.
BOOM! The deafening explosion sent a piercing pain through their eardrums. The very spot where Long Chen and Chu Lingjun had just been standing was blasted into a massive crater.

Flames spread everywhere, setting the entire jungle ablaze. The temperature skyrocketed in an instant, and the heat became so scorching that in just a few seconds, both Long Chen and Chu Lingjun were drenched in sweat.
"Damn it!" Long Chen’s brows knitted together as he watched the encroaching flames. "These people are really trying to wipe us out!"
If this continued, they would be engulfed by the inferno in no time at all. In his desperation, Long Chen grabbed Chu Lingjun’s hand. "Let’s go!"

Long Chen and Chu Lingjun vanished, becoming afterimages as they swiftly dodged.

One fireball after another rained down from the sky. With each impact, the ground cracked and the fire spread further. Long Chen and Chu Lingjun narrowly escaped with their lives, barely evading the pillars of fire with each move. But no matter how agile or fast they were, faced with such a dense barrage, they found it nearly impossible to advance.
Seeing the mountain beneath them being battered beyond recognition by the fiery columns, Shao Zirui laughed heartily, feeling immensely satisfied. "Bomb them! Keep bombing them!" he roared. "I refuse to believe those two cowards can hide for long! I’ll make sure they die here with no place for a grave!"
At Shao Zirui’s command, the four members of the World King Palace behind him immediately poured even more battle qi into the formation. As it hummed with power, an increasing number of fiery pillars shot out. These pillars rained down like a torrential downpour, pounding viciously against the mountain.

To their dismay, they found that a barrier had already been erected there in advance.

"Break it!" Chu Lingjun declared, swinging the Gold Chant Sword and pouring a massive amount of battle qi into it.
With a single strike, Sword Qi swept out. When it struck the barrier, a muffled sound rang out as the attack shattered and dissipated, leaving the barrier completely unaffected.
Chu Lingjun’s fine brows furrowed. Is this barrier’s defense really so strong?
"Together!" Long Chen said, glancing at Chu Lingjun.
She nodded, ready to try again.
Long Chen drew his Blackwind Sword and infused it with battle qi, delivering a powerful, heavy strike. At the same time, Chu Lingjun unleashed another strike of her own. The two streams of Sword Qi slammed violently against the barrier. With a loud THUD, a crack appeared on its surface.
"It’s working," Chu Lingjun said, a faint smile gracing her pretty face. "Let’s continue!"
At that moment, Shao Zirui sensed the barrier was under attack. He slowly lifted his head, his gaze falling upon the section of the barrier up ahead.
He chuckled. "So, the two rats are hiding there, huh."
