Snow blanketed the landscape, and the cold wind cut like a blade. As the wind slashed at his face, it chapped his lips and wrinkled his skin, making him appear much older. Resting on his back, Chu Lingjun’s condition worsened in the freezing temperature.
Long Chen could feel her body trembling and carefully set her down. Her complexion was deathly pale, and she was clearly in a terrible state.
"Cold?" Long Chen asked, hurriedly taking off one of his outer garments and draping it over her.
"I’m fine, I can endure it," Chu Lingjun quickly said. "It’s so cold here. You should wear it."

A warmth spread through Chu Lingjun’s heart.
Long Chen continued onward, carrying her on his back. He too was suffering from internal injuries. His earlier outburst had left him so weakened that he still hadn’t fully recovered. Crossing this snowy mountain would be an immense challenge for them.
One step at a time, Long Chen carried Chu Lingjun, climbing ever higher.
As the sky gradually darkened, a wolf’s howl echoed in the distance. The sound made Long Chen freeze, his eyes scanning the surroundings vigilantly. He took a few cautious steps forward and spotted a wolf. Its sharp eyes were locked onto him and Chu Lingjun as it slowly approached.
"A Silver Wolf Explosion?" Chu Lingjun recognized the creature at a glance. "Quick, let’s go!" she urged. "Silver Wolf Explosions are ferocious by nature, with astonishing attack power and agility. We’re both seriously injured. If we’re targeted, we’ll have a hard time escaping."
Hearing this, Long Chen’s brow furrowed. He knew a little about Silver Wolf Explosions and never expected to encounter one here. What rotten luck!
Long Chen cautiously turned, hoping to leave safely before the beast attacked. But after only a couple of steps, he froze.
In the distance, two more pairs of silver-glowing eyes were staring straight at them.
Long Chen’s expression turned grim. "This is bad. There are two more."
