The explosion echoed through the cave.
The Legendary Dagon fixed his gaze on the five Super Mutants, but he didn’t take action himself. Instead, he pointed in their direction and let out an angry roar.
Two Fourth-Rank Dagons by his side immediately set out along with hundreds of guards from the three tribes.
The Stone Lizard People in the nearby rock nests also opened their eyes, grabbed their weapons, crawled out of the nests, and in a matter of seconds the cave was fully awake like a boiling pot.
In an instant, the five mutants were surrounded.
The shiftily brilliant one shouted, looking at the rock where Ji Xinghuo hid, his face filled with reluctance.
The Illusion Sound Master was suddenly hit by an explosive flame arrow, interrupting his control over the illusion. They were just a few dozen meters away from revealing the position of Ren Mian and the others, but it dissipated helplessly.
The five mutants turned and ran.
But they hadn’t gone far when the enemy’s first wave of interception arrived. Ahead, over a dozen Stone Lizard archers launched arrows at them. Most Stone Lizards are warriors and not skilled in archery; in the rush, they could barely gather a dozen archers for a saturated volley.
The heavily armored Gravity Warrior stepped forward, using his large body to protect his teammates.
The arrows fell to the ground before reaching him,
and the few that hit him bounced off the armor, causing no harm whatsoever.
Meanwhile, a black Martial Artist sprinted at an explosive pace using Flying Steps, dodging the arrows shot at him and in the blink of an eye charged into the group of Stone Lizard archers. His twin short swords swung fiercely, like a shadow flashing rapidly, leaving behind a trail of Stone Lizard corpses.
They continued to charge forward, but the Stone Lizards were simply too numerous.
The Illusion Sound Master once again cast Silent Illusion to cover the entire team’s figures. The Legendary Dagon, standing on the palace steps, pointed from afar, shooting out a piece of Shattered Ice with his fingertip.
Shattered Ice, as fast as lightning, expanded dramatically while flying, turning into an Ice Spear several meters long.
The Ice Spear shot directly toward the position of the five people.
The Gravity Warrior shouted, turning his body to again shield his teammates, and used the face of his huge axe as a shield in front of him.
The Ice Spear struck the axe, bursting into countless fragments of ice and a chill.
The Gravity Warrior instantly turned into an ice sculpture, and the chill spread along his feet to the ground, rapidly covering a hundred-meter radius in ice.
The other four, not hit directly, were covered in frost. The Silent Illusion was immediately broken, and their speed plunged.
The surrounding Stone Lizard Warriors took the opportunity to encircle them.
The all-transforming genius was shrouded in flames, turning into a Giant over three meters tall made of high-temperature lava. He gently tapped the shoulder of the frozen Gravity Warrior, and the flames transferred, immediately defrosting him and dispersing the cold chill wrapping around them.
By then, the two Fourth-Rank Dagons had already charged to the front.
Another Fourth-Rank Stone Lizard Warrior, with over a hundred of his kin, flanked them from the side and they were soon encircled.
The Martial Artist vibrated his long spear and plunged into the crowd of Stone Lizards, facing off against the Fourth-Rank Stone Lizard Warrior.
Visible sound waves came from the opened mouth of the Illusion Sound Master, a "Sound Spear" that grazed by the Martial Artist’s body and struck the Fourth-Rank Stone Lizard Warrior first, causing his body to seize and blood to flow from the orifices of his head, his spirit severely shocked.
The Martial Artist pierced his head with one thrust of the spear, sweeping the long spear sideways to clear a swath of enemies instantly.
His spear carried "Beng Force"!
This type of Star Force Ability combined with striking techniques resulted in an attack that would make the entire body disintegrate into a heap of flesh if even slightly grazed by the spear.
On the other side, the all-transforming genius and the Gravity Warrior teamed up to kill two Fourth-Rank Dagons in a few breaths.
The Gravity Warrior opened up a Gravity Field around himself, slowing down all entering enemies. The all-transforming genius, his body a weapon, pounced directly onto the slowed Dagons, the high-temperature lava instantly charring them to cinders.
The black Martial Artist, too, became a reaper, harvesting the lives of archers in the crowd.
The five mutants fought as they retreated.
The Stone Lizards surged around them like a tidal wave, but like a rock they stood unyielding. No matter how fierce the waves that hit them, they would shatter in an instant.
They moved quickly towards the cave exit, leaving behind a trail of Stone Lizard and Dagon corpses.
Hidden behind the rocks, Ji Xinghuo watched the battle and couldn’t help being awestruck.
The strength of these five Super Mutants surpassed those of the same rank. Each one was unmatched, and when teamed up, unless the Legendary Dagon intervened, it would be difficult for the Stone Lizards alone to keep them—doing so would merely sacrifice tens of thousands of Stone Lizard lives in vain.
However, the Legendary Dagon still showed no intention of acting.
Ji Xinghuo suddenly felt an alarm.
