Surprise, CEO: Those Two Kids? They're Actually Yours! Chapter 23

Adrian Grant looked at the child who came before him, showing no fear of him at all.

Seeing one little white hand stretched out in mid-air, a small face smiling as brightly as a flower, the title the child called out truly surprised him.

But the call of ’stepdad’ still deeply pierced him.

Adrian Grant kept a cold face, ignoring the child’s enthusiasm, and glanced towards Raina Lowell in the distance, sarcastically saying:

"This is the kind of child you’ve brought up, flattering everyone they meet. Do you think this way I would accept them?"

He would never accept these two children.

Adrian Grant had plenty of women to bear children for him.

Someone else’s illegitimate children could never stay under his name.

Raina Lowell was angry.

She marched over and pulled her son aside, lecturing him:

"Evelyn, did you hear that? Your warm hospitality is not appreciated. Don’t call him stepdad; he’s not worthy. Mommy will divorce him soon."

She still thought Adrian Grant’s words were too harsh.

Raina Lowell looked at him and couldn’t help retorting:

"Rest assured; I never dreamt that you would accept them."

"I can’t wait to divorce you and stay far away from you. Don’t act like anyone is pining to be with you."

Adrian Grant felt his chest tighten.

His eyes grew colder.

"Fine, then, Raina, go do your job!"

Raina Lowell glared at him with hate, softly comforting her son:

"Evelyn, why don’t you go upstairs and keep your sister company, okay?"

Little Evelyn furrowed his small brow, looking at his mom, then at stepdad.

He really sensed that stepdad didn’t like him.

But that’s because stepdad didn’t understand him yet. ɴᴇᴡ ɴᴏᴠᴇʟ ᴄʜᴀᴘᴛᴇʀs ᴀʀᴇ ᴘᴜʙʟɪsʜᴇᴅ ᴏɴ ɴovelfire.net

Once they’ve spent more time together, stepdad will definitely like him.

Little Evelyn remained optimistic, smiling as he nudged Raina Lowell away.

"Mommy, go ahead and work. Don’t worry about me; I’ll go to keep sister company soon."

Raina Lowell had to go to the kitchen.

Adrian Grant was big enough that he probably wouldn’t do anything to her son.

Watching his mom walk away, little Evelyn stepped forward to personally pour the tea.

Despite being small, his movements were clumsy, yet orderly.

Then with two soft little hands, he held the teacup again and offered it to Adrian Grant, politely saying:

"If you don’t want me to call you stepdad, I’ll call you uncle for now. Handsome uncle, have some tea."

Adrian Grant observed him.

Unexpected that a two-year-old child spoke so clearly and cleverly.

Although he found him somewhat different from other kids his age.

Adrian Grant still had no affection, coldly stating:

"Take it away, don’t get near me."

Little Evelyn’s smile remained softly blooming on his small face.

Even though his stepdad rejected him twice, he showed no discouragement, placing down the teacup and standing by inquisitively:

"Mom said she wants a divorce from you, so are you and mom married now?"

Adrian Grant ignored him.

What does such a little kid understand about marriage?

He wasn’t even willing to give him another glance.

But Adrian Grant couldn’t deny that the child was good-looking.

White and tender, with thick, black hair, and star-like bright eyes.

The whole small face was soft, cute, and charming enough to make one want to pinch it.

But thinking he’s someone else’s child, Adrian Grant’s heart soured unbearably, his handsome face growing gloomier.

Seeing that stepdad was still ignoring him, little Evelyn happily continued:

"Do you dislike mom having me and big sister?"

"If there was no me or sister, would you like mom?"

Adrian Grant finally couldn’t help but look at him.

Still trying to appear fierce, he coldly replied:

"Go play somewhere else."

How could he possibly like Raina Lowell?

That damned little woman.

Claimed she loved him and ended up cuddling with someone else once abroad.

Getting cozy was one thing, but she even bore two children.

The most annoying part is, these eloquent kids belong to someone else.

The more Adrian Grant thought, the more frustrated he felt.

"Heh, I just wanted to talk to you."

Little Evelyn smiled again, his tiny stature leaning against the edge of the couch, big eyes, black and white, fixed on Adrian Grant.

Features bright, confident, and proudly declaring:

"Handsome uncle, let me tell you, accepting me and sister would definitely make a great investment."

"I guarantee when I grow up, I’ll earn lots of money and let you and mom enjoy your life."

Does he know how rich his stepdad is now?

So young and already boasting wildly, truly a fearless youngster.

Adrian Grant still kept his handsome face stern, unwilling to engage with him.

Yet, listening to such boasting from a child this young was indeed amusing.

At that moment, Aurora came downstairs.

Just recovered from a fever, she still seemed listless.

To see her stepdad, she deliberately wore her favorite princess dress and put up two pigtails.

Shyly arriving beside her brother, Aurora stealthily glanced at Adrian Grant, sweetly saying:

"Brother, he looks like someone from our family."

Little Evelyn took his sister’s hand, tilted his head curiously asking:

"Who from our family does he look like?"

They had practically no relatives.

Only one uncle who was especially close to mom, but that uncle was abroad and didn’t come over.

Adrian Grant was curious about what the child might say.

He stared at her coldly.

He wanted to see which relative in their family he resembled.

Aurora smiled, standing in front of Adrian Grant, showing no fear, sweetly saying:

"Brother, don’t you think he looks like our future dad?"

Little Evelyn realized, nodding vigorously.

"I think he indeed looks like our future dad."

These are the words spoken by two-year-olds?

The discomfort within made him want to push the kids away before him.

But the little girl upfront, such a carved beauty, irresistibly cute, made him want to hug her.

Realizing he was wavering, Adrian Grant promptly straightened up, maintaining his icy demeanor.

"Go play somewhere else, don’t bother me."

"Ah, the way uncle talks is so cool, looks like a hero who can protect mommy."

Aurora’s eyes sparkled, embracing her brother with joy, saying softly:

"What do I do, brother? I really cool uncle."

Little Evelyn agreed with his sister, the siblings hugged each other, delighted.

"I also really handsome uncle, but handsome uncle doesn’t seem to like us."

Aurora released her brother, boldly reaching for Adrian Grant’s big hand and with sparkling eyes, softly asking:

"Uncle, don’t be scared, my brother and I won’t eat you. So you’ll like us too, right?"

One clever child enough to incite jealousy.

And there were two of them.

Especially the little girl, every word so soft, sweet.

Beautifully adorable, so plump.

How could he, a man tough as an eagle, utter colder words?

Evidently, Adrian Grant was struggling, unsure how to reply to the children, stood up immediately to avoid them, and walked away briskly.

Caleb Landon hurriedly followed.

The two little ones didn’t chase after him, just stood watching uncle’s back, looking a bit despondent.

"Oh wow, we’ve scared the stepdad away."
