Surprise, CEO: Those Two Kids? They're Actually Yours! Chapter 30

Adrian Grant was utterly embarrassed by the child’s words.

Raina Lowell had told the children that she didn’t like him?

He didn’t deny that it was his fault Raina Lowell had drank too much and got alcohol poisoning.

But the child turned on him too quickly.

He was very displeased, frowning as he said:

"I’m not even happy to be your stepdad, brat. Should’ve let some bad guys take you away outside."

"Humph!" This update is available on Novᴇl_Fire(.)net

Evelyn shot him a cold glance, and seeing some wet wipes nearby, she quickly took one to wipe her mom’s face.

Soon after, Elias Sheridan came over with silver needles.

Just as he was about to give them to the child, Adrian Grant stopped him.

"Are you crazy? He’s being childish; are you too without sense?"

Elias Sheridan, however, laughed, very excited.

"He can be childish in other ways. Why acupuncture and pulse diagnosis? Don’t stop me. If he gets the points right today, I definitely want this child."

Ignoring Adrian Grant, Elias Sheridan went to the child’s side, handing him the silver needles.

"Think carefully before you puncture. This is your Aunt Raina. If you mess up, she won’t wake up."

He intentionally frightened the child.

Evelyn took the silver needles and corrected him:

"She’s my mom, not ’Aunt’."

Then she climbed onto the bed, took out a silver needle, and cautiously inserted it into her mom’s head.

Elias Sheridan paid no attention to what the child said, his actions leaving him utterly shocked.

Adrian Grant feared the child might act recklessly and harm Raina Lowell.

As he was about to stop her, Elias Sheridan quickly intervened.

"Leave her be. The few needles she inserts won’t kill anyone."

This child was indeed exceptionally talented, truly amazing.

Other two-year-olds have trouble walking and speaking.

This child can puncture needles and diagnose pulses at two?

If not gifted, Elias wouldn’t believe it.

"A two-year-old child, do you truly believe she knows how?"

Adrian Grant was still unwilling to let a child randomly insert needles into Raina Lowell’s head.

Just looking at it was painful.

He pushed Elias Sheridan aside and yelled at the child:

"Evelyn Lowell, get down here! Stop messing around. You believe I’ll hit you?"

"Mind your own business."

Evelyn’s thoughts were solely on her mom.

As long as she could ease her mom’s discomfort, everyone else’s words were nonsense.

She continued to puncture her mom’s head and withdraw the needles.

She completely ignored Adrian Grant.

Adrian Grant was angry and raised a hand to grab her.

At this point, Elias Sheridan allowed it.

Because he saw the little one was about done with the needling.

He squatted down, pulling the child closer, and asked, "What were those needles for?"

Evelyn pushed Adrian Grant’s hand away, knowing this equally tall and handsome uncle before her was a doctor who understood more.

She obediently expressed her thoughts.

"Promote blood circulation, relieve headache."

Elias Sheridan admired her and gave her a thumbs up.

"You’re amazing, little one. I’m an excellent doctor. Do you want to learn how to save people with me?"

Evelyn’s eyes lit up and she nodded vigorously.

"Sure, if you teach me to save people, I’ll recognize you as my stepdad."

"Hey, brat, how come you’re as fickle as your mom, changing your affections at whim?"

Adrian Grant couldn’t help but respond to the child’s words and inexplicably felt a pang in his chest.

She had always called him stepdad.

Now, meeting someone nice, she changed her mind immediately.

This child was just like Raina Lowell, liking anyone she met, utterly lacking self-respect.

Evelyn glared at him, "You can’t even take care of my mom, what a waste of your size. Why can’t I change my mind?"

Adrian Grant was almost driven to madness by this child.

He couldn’t help but raise a hand and tug at her ear.

Evelyn hurriedly hid by Elias Sheridan, clutching Elias’s clothes, and shouted:

"Don’t worry. He’s just teasing you."

Elias Sheridan held the child up to sit in the crook of his arm.

Looking at Adrian Grant, he asked, "Why does this child call Raina Lowell ’mom’?"

Adrian Grant was irritable, "Without father or mother, she calls anyone mom and dad."

Elias Sheridan thought, could it be an orphan longing for mom, hence calling Raina Lowell ’mom’?

Raina Lowell and Adrian Grant had been married for a year. They couldn’t have a child this big.

Thinking that Raina Lowell needed rest.

Elias Sheridan, holding the child, threw a word to Adrian Grant, "Stay here and watch over her. I’ll take the child to rest."

Adrian Grant wished the child would leave soon.

Just listening to her talk made him angry.

He sat by the bedside, noticing that Raina Lowell’s face looked much better than before.

Recalling the child’s actions, she indeed seemed unusual.

Could this be the mark of a genius?

But thinking of such a smart and courageous child, born to Raina Lowell and someone else, Adrian Grant felt as if his heart was weighed down by a giant rock.

He was very depressed.

But he didn’t leave even for a step overnight, staying by the bed.

Raina Lowell woke up only with the morning light.

Her stomach still felt a burning pain.

Her whole body was weak.

She wanted to get up to go to the bathroom.

But noticed Adrian Grant leaning against the headboard, asleep.

Quietly, she looked at him, not understanding how he could sleep sitting up.

Thinking back to last night when Adrian Grant forced her at the nightclub, drinking with his buddies, yet sitting to one side holding Isabelle Everett, watching her joke.

Raina Lowell reminded herself she should give up.

This man would not love her.

He would only find ways to torture her.

So she shouldn’t love him anymore; better to let go!

Despite the discomfort inside, feeling her insides were churning.

Needing to use the bathroom, Raina Lowell forced herself to get up.

Her movement prompted Adrian Grant to wake up.

Seeing her wanting to get out of bed, he gentlemanly moved to assist her.

"If you’re feeling unwell, just lie there. Why get up?"

Raina Lowell weakly pushed his hand away, coldly said:

"Stop pretending. Aren’t you going to accompany your girlfriend? Planning to stay here for my funeral?"

In the future, she’ll act along with him for the play.

When the elder is gone, she’ll leave with the children.

This old man, whoever loves him can keep him; she’s not interested anymore.

"Raina Lowell, can you stop making trouble so early?"

Adrian Grant didn’t look pleasant, believing she wanted to use the bathroom.

Thinking of all the suffering she faced last night, surely she didn’t have the strength to get off the bed.

He circled the big bed, raising his hand to hug her.

Raina Lowell didn’t want it, struggling to evade.

"Adrian Grant, what are you doing? Don’t touch me."

"Don’t be difficult. Aren’t you going to the bathroom? I’m holding you there."

Before she could react, she was lifted into the air, and carried towards the bathroom.

She looked at him in a daze, not understanding why he suddenly turned kind.

Adrian Grant put her down on the toilet, uncharacteristically gentle, "Do you want me to help, or will you handle it yourself?"

Raina Lowell’s face suddenly flushed, and she lowered her head, "You go out."

Adrian Grant agreed, "Fine. Oh, by the way, your son came. You better keep him under control, minimize his contact with others."
