Hestia couldn't contain her excitement, shaking Adam's waist while bouncing up and down.
Her extreme reaction was perfectly justified. While Bell had shown rapid improvement with daily updates, Adam's quantum leap was even more astonishing.
Hestia was completely beside herself. She was certain no one would ever break this record!
"Is this what it means to have talent far beyond normal people — to improve to this level in just half a month?! Is my Familia going to become one of the strongest in Orario?! That measly Loki, just watch me catch up and trample you underfoot! Hehehe, hehehehe!"
Hestia couldn't stop drooling as she fantasized about her Familia becoming famous through Adam's achievements. At last, she'd have another way to mock Loki besides the "landing strip" comments — by crushing the Sword Princess herself.
Let's see her brag about her children taking only one year to reach Level 2 now.
How will she show off now!
"I apologize for interrupting while you're so excited, Lady Goddess, but I haven't seen my status yet, if possible..." The shirtless Adam found her enthusiasm rather noisy, having not joined in the celebration himself.
"Ah, sorry, sorry, I got too excited." Hestia giggled apologetically and quickly inscribed the skill levels.
Adam took the parchment, looked at the numbers, and said with slight disappointment, "The final skill level is only 1999? That's quite a bit lower than I imagined."
"Don't say things like that, Adam!" Hestia stopped laughing and put on a serious face to scold him, "There's never been a child like you in all of Orario — you're already exceptional. Learn to be content."
Though she said this, the unstoppable smile at the corners of her mouth betrayed her. Compared to her excited state, one might wonder if they had switched roles.
"Yes, yes, yes, I understand." Adam waved dismissively, then asked the still secretly grinning loli goddess, "By the way, Lady Hestia, can I Rank Up now?"
His abilities had reached their maximum potential, and he had accomplished great deeds by defeating monsters in the Dungeon. Having met both requirements, he was ready to advance.
"Yes, indeed you can." Just as he expected, Hestia agreed to promote him immediately.
In fact, she was even more eager than he was.
With that, Hestia impatiently bit her finger again, raising Adam to Level 2, while all skill levels reset to [I 0].
"Congratulations, Adam. You are now a Level 2 Adventurer."
After completing the advancement, Hestia's expression shifted from excitement to one of divine radiance as she sincerely blessed the newly advanced Adam.
"Mm, thank you, Lady Hestia."
"Oh right, now that you've reached Level 2, let's choose your Development Ability!"
Development Abilities.
These are abilities that Adventurers can choose when advancing in rank. They reflect what the Adventurer has accomplished during their journey and appear as options during rank advancement.
Once chosen, they greatly increase the Adventurer's talent in that specific area.
For example, defeating many monsters quickly reveals Hunter; frequent use of magic reveals Mage; forging weapons reveals Smith; and enduring many attacks reveals Abnormal Resistance.
But when Hestia saw the Development Abilities displayed on Adam's back, she was struck speechless.
Fighter, Mage, Hunter, Luck, Rapid Growth, Mystery, Initiative, Chain Attack, Crush, Guardian, Healing, Recovery, Abnormal Resistance, Magic Resistance…
They densely filled her entire field of vision — so many that she couldn't even count them all.
"To think there are so many options, and Mystery is among them?!"
"That's an ultra-rare Development Ability — as far as I know, fewer than five people in all of Orario have it!"
Five people — meaning you could count them on one hand. Hestia seemed too shocked to describe it further.
Mystery. The most special Development Ability in all of Orario.
It doesn't increase an Adventurer's strength directly, but its extraordinary unpredictability makes it unique.
When it activates is unknown, what it does is unknown. But one thing is certain: every time it takes effect, it brings earth-shattering changes to the Adventurer.
In short, it's a gamble on unlimited possibilities.

Adam felt warmth in his heart.
Only Hestia would do this. Other deities would never give their Familia members a choice — they'd simply decide for them without discussion.
This wasn't just about Mystery. Some Familia operated like well-oiled machines, determining their members' Development Abilities from the start, leaving them no say in the matter.
How different from Hestia's caring nature.
Adam thought for a moment, "Then, I choose Mystery."
"Yes, you can only choose one Development Ability each time, and Mystery is the rarest, right? If I miss it now, it might not appear again next time. So all things considered, I choose Mystery."
"Yes, please, Lady Hestia."
"Then!" Hestia's hands glowed with light as she traced patterns in the air.
As the light faded, this rank advancement came to an end.
