Surviving the Apocalypse: All I Want Is to Find a Husband Chapter 140

Medeia recalled that the system had mentioned how the watchers could shower her with gifts if they found her amusing. However, she never expected to actually receive one.

She mean, who in their right mind would look at her and think, "Oh, I have to give her a gift."

Medeia asked the system, "What kind of gift?"

Instead of answering, the system immediately began calculating her points.

[Calculating the total kill ....]

[Ding! Ding! You have slain 2 Grade-SSS mutants, 3 Grade-SS mutants, and 2 Grade-S mutants.]

[Total XP: +4,100 XP]

Really? She only killed seven monsters? After everything she had been through, Medeia thought she had taken down at least fifteen.

[You were running away, Host. Remember?]

"I wasn’t running away because I was scared! That was just a survival tactic!" Medeia defended herself.

Not long after, another notification appeared.

[Congratulations! You have reached Level 28!]

[Stat increase: +2,800 MP (Total: 45,500), +1,250 HP (Total: 16,650), Defense: +40 (Total: 195)]

[Upgraded Skill Reward: Reduce the Demonic Strength Cooldown to 5 hours.]

And then, the long-awaited announcement popped up.

[Yveris, The Goddess of Vitality, was impressed by your determination to help your man!]

[She grants you the Blessing of Resilience — Effect: Reduces stamina consumption by 70% when performing strenuous activities (combat, running, etc.). Enhances natural stamina regeneration by 100%.]

Medeia’s jaw dropped as she read the notification. It wasn’t an item. It wasn’t a weapon. It was a blessing—a fucking blessing from a goddess!

Never in her wildest dreams did she imagine she’d go from being the most hated woman in heaven to receiving divine favor.

She had never heard of Yveris before, but perhaps the goddess came from another universe.

"Are you serious?" Medeia was still in awe. "This blessing ... With something , my body might actually hold up after deactivating the demonic skill!"

[Yes, Host! Thanks to this blessing, your body won’t be as exhausted as usual!]

[Additionally, your natural psychic abilities will also be twice as strong.]

[It’s extremely rare for a sponsor to grant such a generous gift!]

If Medeia were just a mere human, she might’ve decided to worship the goddess on the spot.

The blessing seemed like a miracle, but only because she had endured too much pain.

A single drop of fresh water felt like a diamond in the middle of a scorching desert.

And the goddess? She was no different.

She had given Medeia something extraordinary, but in the end, she was still one of those who pushed the system to keep changing the rules, just to make the entertaining.

Rather than a blessing, Medeia preferred to call it compensation for all the pain she had endured.

Once the system finished calculating her points, she decided to take a quick bath before searching for Lucian.

Fortunately, he hadn’t taken his students somewhere far today. Instead, he had only ordered them to run around the spring for an hour.

Medeia let out a sigh of relief. If Lucian had dared to push himself too far, she would have smacked him on the head for not resting properly.

As she walked toward the spring, she noticed his students looking annoyed, clearly displeased that Lucian had returned earlier than expected.

Not far from the spring, Lucian stood with his arms crossed and shouting at them to run faster. "Do you think a monster will wait for you to escape?! No! The moment they outrun you, you’re dead!"

Lucian was always serious when training others. His usual smile vanished, replaced by a deep frown whenever one of his students gave up too easily.

But the moment his eyes caught Medeia’s presence, his entire demeanor shifted in a blink of an eye.

A bright smile spread across his face—so dazzling that even the sun couldn’t compare.

He waved at her. "Why’d you wake up so soon?"

Then, with a casual flick of his hand, he formed a stone chair for her, ensuring she wouldn’t have to stand.

Oh, how delightful. His students thought.

They had to run around under the scorching sun, while Medeia wasn’t even allowed to stand for more than five minutes.

Lucian said, "Weren’t you tired last night? Maybe you should have slept a little longer."

Medeia sat down, crossing her arms. "Same goes for you. Why aren’t you resting?"

His complexion was still a bit pale, but much better than yesterday.

Anyone else might not believe her if she said that just a day ago, Lucian had been so sick he looked like he was on the verge of death.

Medeia clearly looked like she was holding back her anger, making Lucian hesitant to give her a random excuse. "I got plenty of rest yesterday because of you." He took her hand and placed her palm against his forehead. "See? I’m not burning up anymore."

While the instructor was busy comforting his grumpy girlfriend, the students took the opportunity to slow their pace. They thought he wouldn’t notice, but they didn’t account for the fact that his girlfriend was just as strict as he was.

"Your students are slacking off," Medeia reported.

Before Lucian could react, all of them immediately picked up their pace, running even faster than before.

Actually, Lucian could barely focus on his students anymore because Medeia’s expression seemed so gloomy. "Are you mad at me?"

Medeia almost choked on her own saliva. Did he seriously have the audacity to ask that?

Of course, she was mad!

Just yesterday, she had been terrified, fearing that he would turn into the Lost.

She had stayed by his side, restless and exhausted, fearing she might lose him. And now? He was out here, training his students like nothing had happened, as if he hadn’t been burning up with fever and mumbling in his sleep.

If she just told him to rest, he’d brush it off. He always did.

He always listened to her, so why was it that when it came to his own well-being, he suddenly chose to ignore her?

Fine. If he wouldn’t listen the easy way, she’d take a different approach.
