Surviving The Fourth Calamity Chapter 112

"I really didn’t expect it, but it turns out they are a couple!" Hensley said, watching the two walk side by side, "Such pragmatic people! His Highness Carl, being a Legendary, probably can’t understand why someone would choose the one with lesser talent, right?"

Hill watched the couple ahead, her figure stiffening slightly, and frowned, "They’ve known each other for a long time; what’s so strange about them having feelings? Mr. Hensley, must you think so vulgarly?

And why must you say such things about yourself, Mr. Hensley? If I recall correctly, aren’t you much older than Mr. Phillips?"

Hensley gave a wry smile, "I just couldn’t help but lament; I apologize if I made you uncomfortable!"

Was it that Miller and Carl were vying for a spot? Hill thought darkly, Hensley’s hostility towards Phillips and Carl seemed even stronger!

Just don’t come trying to stir me up; Hill had no desire to get entangled in that mess.

Not to mention Magisters, even Archmages could hear conversations throughout their entire territory, and Hensley had even deliberately mentioned His Highness Carl’s name to catch the attention of those two.

Did he want to make Phillips hate Hill, to cause trouble for him? Or did he want Miss Carl to fear the questioning of The Legend of Carl, so she could only continue to bond with Hill, even though she knew he was aware she had chosen Phillips?

Then it would turn into a love triangle with two men fighting over one woman, and it would be even better if he could drag Fran into it when Hill got angry.

Hill looked at Hensley, who remained unflustered, smiling politely, "Sorry, I have to excuse myself; I need to open my shop."

"Please don’t misunderstand my intentions!" Hensley said softly, "It’s probably because I gave Adrian the wrong information, so I’m a bit flustered."

Hill nodded, "It’s fine, it’s none of my business, is it?

I will explain it to you and Uncle Adrian, after all, Miss Carl has no intentions of a political marriage."

Hill no longer paid attention to what Hensley still wanted to say and went straight to the top of the hill on the right, at the highest corner, and set up his shop anew.

From the living room on the third floor, one could directly see the location of the tunnels below while also observing the entire territory, making it a great spot to watch.

Srei and List had already helped him get in touch with Fran.

"Hill, how is everything?" Adrian’s voice came through.

"Uncle Adrian. Did His Majesty the King only give those two Legends one spot?"

"What? Hensley causing trouble?" Adrian asked sharply, "The man always plays dirty, but he doesn’t usually provoke powerful enemies.

I thought he would not easily offend you."

"He just hopes that Mr. Phillips and I will fall out over Miss Carl."

"What do you mean?" Adrian was extremely surprised, "That lady, she fancies Phillips? When she was born, Phillips already looked like he does now, right?

She must have been calling him ’Uncle’ for 30 years!"

Adrian was quiet for a moment, "Well, it’s not a big deal. After all, her talent may not necessarily make her a Magister. Moreover, she might not live as long as Phillips!

And, regarding The Legend of Carl, it really is difficult to remain in this world.

Even if he enters the Divine Kingdom, it won’t affect the present world.

Phillips is already the confirmed inheritor of a Legend.

I once heard that The Legend of Carl believed Phillips had a one percent chance of ascending to become a Legend.

Just a bit less than the teacher.

Hold on, I’ll go ask the teacher.

Hensley wouldn’t act this way without reason; it might be just as you think.

The teacher has more sources for information than I do."

Hill quickly said, "It’s best to bring Grandfather along."

"I’ll go call him; lately, the teacher has been busy with a space expansion experiment."

"All the more reason to come," Hill replied with a laugh, "Does the issue with those two warrant contacting me once again?"

"Any good news, Hill?" Fran arrived quickly.

"A Clan Leader from the Undead Tribe has set up their territory here."

"So soon?" Adrian was astonished, "Didn’t Hensley say he was going to take that Archmage there to build a tower?"

"Phillips thinks the same," Hill understood a bit better, "He wants to build a tower for Miss Carl."

"They went together," Adrian chuckled, "Hensley must have realized he might not win.

After all, that person there is a direct descendant of a Legendary Mage."

The result of these political intrigues was that neither party offered to take that territory from the beginning.

They probably planned to observe for a while, seeing if the finds from the place were worth going all out in a fight.

Unexpectedly, the Undead Tribe simply didn’t need to ponder so much; finding a suitable place, they promptly chose a location and moved all their kin there."

"No wonder Hensley made it so obvious."

"It is said that His Majesty the King plans to find a Mage to serve as the Divine Subordinate for that young Highness," Fran said pensively, "The other one would just be able to stay in the Divine Kingdom."

"Hensley knows," Adrian stated with certainty, "But Phillips and Miss Carl definitely do not.

Otherwise, they would never have told Hill that they are a couple so directly if they knew the news would surely be conveyed to Hill."

Hill had no interest in continuing to talk about these matters, "As long as Hensley is aware that I am displeased with his actions, he probably won’t continue to cause trouble.

Let’s talk about important matters.

That Clan Leader from the Undead Tribe is a Space-Time Warlock; I’ve heard warlocks can open a Space Gate between two places. They’ve just gone down there and moved all their kin over."
