Qin Jian came out of the house and immediately spotted the steaming dumplings on the table, with the thin skins almost transparent enough to reveal the faint green of the wild vegetables inside.
"Qin brother, my sister asked me to bring over the dumplings. I’ve brought the stuff, and I’m leaving now!" At this moment, An Ping didn’t have much fondness for his "future brother-in-law."
If he had been a little younger, it would have been fine, but he was so much older than his sister, and An Ping always felt that he was being overly ingratiating for no reason.

The food was all on the table, and Qin Fengfeng only got back from outside now, washed her hands and face quickly, and then sat down at the table.
She was lazy and gluttonous. Seeing those dumplings made her mouth water, and without waiting for anyone else to start, she grabbed one with her chopsticks and ate it.
"You only know how to eat, what about everyone at the table? Have you no shame!" Li Junping glared at Qin Feng.
"Come on, don’t scold the kids at the dinner table." Qin Ru Hai always had to smoke a cigarette before meals, and only after finishing would he start eating.
Qin Fengfeng didn’t care for any of that, she believed that as a foodie, she couldn’t be too concerned about face, and so she just took a big bite of the dumpling.
The moment she bit down, she was stunned. A rich savory taste exploded in her mouth, the freshness of the vegetables and the strong flavor of the meat blending together wonderfully. It was so delicious it felt like her tongue might just melt.
"Uh... what filling is this?" She choked a bit from swallowing too hastily, frowning and looking somewhat pained.
"Wild vegetables," said Qin Jian offhandedly as he picked up a dumpling and stuffed it in his mouth.
"How could that taste good?" Li Junping was skeptical, "What’s come over the An Family, getting so poor they have to fill dumplings with wild vegetables! That’s something you do in a famine."
"Not at all! It’s incredibly tasty." Qin Feng kept stuffing her face, unconcerned with speaking.
Qin Jian had tasted An Hao’s cooking before, and now, having these dumplings, he believed even more in her skills.
Seeing the siblings eating so enjoyably, everyone else started reaching out for the plate of dumplings.
After tasting them, they were all full of praise.
"This An Hao really does have some skills," Li Junping couldn’t help but praise, "Her cooking is quite impressive, she’s capable of earning money and she’s smart too. It’s just that her family circumstances are not good... too many complex issues."
"Mom, An Hao’s cooking skills are a hundred times better than yours. Just look at what you cook every day, what does it even taste like?" Qin Feng, while eating dumplings, didn’t forget to complain about her mom.
Li Junping glared at Qin Feng, "Now you’re grown up and know my food doesn’t taste good? If An Hao’s food is so delicious, why don’t you go live with An Hao then?"
Qin Feng pouted and said to Qin Jian, "Brother, look at Mom, she just can’t take criticism. An Hao’s food is just better than hers! And look at her stir-fried potatoes, lacking oil and salt, tsk tsk tsk..."
Qin Jian offered no comment.
He knew in his heart that An Hao’s cooking was better than his mom’s, but he couldn’t afford to draw more resentment towards An Hao right now.
Seeing Li Junping lose face from Qin Feng’s words, Jian Ying quickly tried to smooth things over with a smile, "I think Auntie’s food is quite tasty... really great, I like it a lot!"
"Especially these potatoes, they’re good... to eat..." Tian Niu chewed on his back teeth as he fibbed along, even though he really wanted to eat An Hao’s dumplings!
Qin Ru Hai said nothing, just chuckled softly.
Qin Feng laughed along too.
The corners of Qin Jian’s mouth also lifted slightly, his eyes rich with meaning.
