Sweet Nostalgia of the 80s Chapter 179

Song Yueqin wouldn’t let a significant loss go so easily.

In the past, An Hao had been her little lackey, but now An Hao was outperforming her in every aspect, causing great discomfort in her heart.

What hurt her the most was Qin Jian’s attitude towards her. She believed that without An Hao, Qin Jian would have never looked down on her.

Song Yueqin was pulled out of the water, soaking wet and filthy, shivering in the cold breeze.

"You should go back and change your clothes, it’s cold and you might catch a cold," Shen Zhihua, the class monitor, kindly suggested.

At that moment, Song Yueqin was preoccupied with thoughts of revenge against An Hao, completely ignoring Shen Zhihua’s advice, "Mind your own business, I know you’re on An Hao’s side."

"No good deed goes unpunished," sighed Shen Zhihua, shaking her head as she dispersed the onlooking students.

She approached An Hao, and seeing her reddened face, felt a pang of pity and lowered her head to ask, "Are you okay, what happened between you and Song Yueqin?"

An Hao pointed to the book that was so trampled in the mud it was unrecognizable and said to Shen Zhihua, "I didn’t provoke her. She just came up and pushed me, stepping on my injured foot. That’s why I pushed her into the mud pit—that’s what ’an eye for an eye’ means."

"Is your foot okay?" Shen Zhihua asked with concern.

"It’s fine, it’s almost healed," An Hao replied briefly, "It’s just a shame about the book."

Just then, the bell for class rang, and she proceeded to the classroom with Shen Zhihua without further conversation, to continue with their lessons.

The homeroom teacher, clutching a textbook, entered the classroom and noticed a student was missing, so asked, "Where has Song Yueqin gone?"

No sooner had she finished speaking than the director of teaching knocked on the door and said to An Hao with a stern face, "An Hao, come to my office."

An Hao followed the teaching director to the office and saw Song Yueqin sitting on a stool, crying.

No wonder she wasn’t in class; she had run here to tattle.

Before An Hao could speak, the director’s voice boomed like thunder, "An Hao, you are nothing but a troublemaker! To think you would bully a classmate in school, you’ve really gone too far!"

"I didn’t bully her," An Hao said, furrowing her brows and looking at the director with disdain, "As a school leader, you should be fair and impartial, and not biased by hearsay."

The director had a history of conflict with An Hao.

The middle school in the town was known as Changzheng No. 1 Middle School, and the students who came here were usually the top students from various junior high schools.

Because the school was well-managed and the teachers were knowledgeable with extensive teaching experience, many students worked hard to gain admission.

They looked forward to spending three years at this high school to get into a good university. However, some parents, with high hopes for their children and wanting them to have the best learning environment, pulled strings and gave gifts to get their children admitted through great effort.

An Hao’s grades weren’t very outstanding when she tested from junior high to high school.

She barely scraped past the school’s enrollment cutoff line.

That was the root cause of the subsequent trouble.

Although her scores exceeded those of the school, she had not received the acceptance letter for a while.

She found it odd that those who scored lower than her had been admitted to the school. How could she possibly have failed to get in?

She was unaware that Song Yueqin had gained admission through connections and only knew of a student from a neighboring village who had also gotten in despite lower scores.

Therefore, she had a major confrontation with the director over this.

While the anxiety of parents is understandable, adding a few extra students to the originally planned admissions would have been fine. However, due to the limited spots at the school, the admittance of the student with lower scores ended up displacing someone who should have been admitted normally.
