An Hao had moved directly into the eastern room when she came, and she was still living there now.
After washing the pots and pans clean that evening, she returned to her room to start reviewing her exercises.
After reviewing for two hours, she helped An Ping with his review. By the time they finished the books, it was late.
As An Hao prepared to sleep and went to the kitchen to fetch water to wash her face, she saw a basin on the ground soaking the pork intestines in water.
So, she decided to deal with this stuff before sleeping.
Holding her breath, she cleaned out all the feces from the intestines, then repeatedly rinsed them with clean water. She added baking soda and salt and rubbed them for a long time before soaking the intestines again.
Her back ached from the exertion as she looked at the basin full of fecal water on the ground, deciding to throw it outside the door.
If it were to be tossed in the yard, the smell would be too awful!
She couldn’t tolerate that.
An Hao carried the heavy basin of manure water, struggling toward the main entrance.
Just on the other side of the door, Zhang Juyun and her daughter were doing as Liu the witch had instructed, aiming to completely ruin An Hao’s good luck by gathering many filthy things.
They had dead rats, sheep dung eggs, cow dung, and even human urine and feces, mixed in two full buckets of manure, preparing to pour it in front of An Hao’s house.
"Mom, will this work?" Song Yueqin felt very unsure as she followed her mother in the malicious deed.
"Let’s listen to Liu the witch! If she said it would work, let’s give it a try," Zhang Juyun said, straining to lift a bucket of dung. "You help too, let’s do it together, quickly! Once we are done, we go straight home!"
"Okay," Song Yueqin agreed.
The two of them were about to pour out the buckets when suddenly the door banged open and a dark figure appeared in the doorway.
It was An Hao with a basin, ready to toss out the stinking water.
"Ahhh!" The mother and daughter were scared out of their wits, screaming out loud.
An Hao didn’t know what was happening and was also startled by the sudden screams.
Standing at the pitch-black doorway in the dead of night were two people, unknown who they were or what they wanted, suddenly screaming. How could she not be afraid?
Her mind buzzing, she poured out the contents of the basin without a second thought and then quickly slammed the door shut, securing it with a wooden bolt.
Her heart was pounding, nearly jumping out of her chest.
An Hao really wanted to see who it was and why they were standing at her doorstep, but she didn’t have the courage!
All she could do was securely bolt the door and lean against it, listening to the noise outside as her heartbeat raced.
"Buah... buah... ptooey... buah..."
Song Yueqin and Zhang Juyun were doused solidly by the stream of manure water that came pouring toward them. The unfortunate pair tried to dodge, but failed to get out of the way. They knocked into each other, causing the "fertilizer" from the two buckets to spill all over each other without a drop left.
Even more unfortunate was that during Zhang Juyun’s screams, plenty of the stinking water splashed into her mouth. Overwhelmed by the foul smell, she immediately vomited everything she had eaten the night before.
"Mom, are you okay? Mom?" Song Yueqin watched her mother retching non-stop, afraid she might vomit up her lungs.
