By this time, people cooling off by the riverside had gradually left.
Occasionally, a couple lost in their affection would sit by the river for a while, whispering softly, hugging and kissing intimately.
An Hao picked a rock to sit on and took off her shoes, stretching her snow-white feet into the crystal-clear river water. After a day under the scorching sun, the water was warm, and the flow tickled pleasantly as it passed through the gaps between her toes.
An Hao playfully splashed the water with her feet, causing small ripples, occasionally splashing Qin Jian and provoking a string of giggles from her.
"The first time I met you, I knew you were feisty, but I never imagined you’d be this playful!" Qin Jian said with a smile at the corner of his mouth, watching An Hao.
"Playful?" An Hao tilted her head and glanced at him, "Is this what you call being playful?"
"Is this not being playful?" Qin Jian tilted his head to dodge a splash she caused and chuckled.
"Of course not." An Hao’s eyes glittered under the moonlight like a clear spring. She bit her lower lip and her eyes rolled around playfully as she began to laugh gently.
"What are you laughing at?" Qin Jian asked, watching her laugh with a foreboding feeling.
"Let me show you what real mischief is!" An Hao laughed and reached out to push Qin Jian, who was sitting beside her, into the water.
Qin Jian, with his nimble moves, dodged away in a flash.
But An Hao couldn’t control her own strength and lunged forward into the water.
Qin Jian was startled and reached out to grab her.
He caught her, but then his own feet slipped, toppling backward, his hand still clasping An Hao’s wrist.
And so, An Hao also fell downwards, and with a splash, the two of them tumbled into the water, creating a huge splash.
"I’m sorry, I’m sorry!" An Hao quickly apologized to Qin Jian, "I’m sorry, did I hurt you?"
As she spoke, she struggled to get up.
"Don’t move!" Qin Jian lay in the water, his deep gaze fixed on An Hao, "An Hao, don’t move!"
Once An Hao heard his words, she immediately stopped struggling, feeling a searing pain below her abdomen...
"How could there be a rock..." It was inevitable to find stones and sand in the water, and it hurt if you accidentally scraped against them. She wanted to reach down and feel what it was.
"Don’t touch!" Qin Jian propped himself up with one hand while he quickly grabbed her wrist with his other hand. His burning gaze landed on An Hao’s face, and as he spoke, the tips of his ears turned red with heat, "That’s not a rock..."
An Hao suddenly understood.
In her previous life, although she had been married, she had never had any physical intimacy with Qin Jian.
