An Hao met Qin Jian’s expression for the first time and couldn’t help but laugh, "Are you jealous?"
Qin Jian answered truthfully, "Yeah."
"It’s good that you’re jealous. It proves I still have charm." An Hao giggled.
Watching her, Qin Jian held back a smile tugging at the corner of his mouth.
"Have you eaten?" An Hao looked at the students all carrying their food trays to the cafeteria, which was bustling at mealtime, wondering if Qin Jian had eaten before coming. "If not, let me treat you to a meal."
"I haven’t. Let’s eat out. There’s a noodle shop nearby that makes tasty food, I’ll take you to try it." Qin Jian suggested.
"Sounds good." An Hao nodded and followed by Qin Jian’s side, the two of them walked out of the school’s back door.
After crossing an alley, they reached a relatively open main street.
Not far from the school was a noodle shop crowded with diners.
The noodles were excellent, hence it drew a lot of customers.
Just as the pair arrived, two customers by the window left, providing Qin Jian and An Hao with seats.
"Take a look at the menu, what would you like to eat?" Qin Jian handed the menu to An Hao.
"I shouldn’t eat too much in the evening." An Hao flipped through the menu, noting there were many types of noodles listed. She made a casual selection, "Let’s go with the Yangchun noodles."
"Alright." Qin Jian wrote down the order then stood up and went to the window to hand in their order, leaving An Hao alone to wait for her noodles.
At that moment, an elderly couple entered the shop, looking for a place to sit.
An Hao looked around and saw that all the tables nearby were full, leaving no suitable spot for the old pair.
"Ning, it’s too crowded here. Let’s just go back and eat, I can make you handmade noodles!" Zhang Yun suggested.
"No need. Someone is bound to finish soon, let’s wait a while," Ning Yibin said after scanning the surroundings.
So, the elderly couple waited by the door.
Since An Hao’s table could easily fit four, she stood up and approached Ning Yibin and Zhang Yun, "Are you waiting for a table? Why don’t you sit with us? We have just two people and still have two seats free."
Zhang Yun was immediately delighted to see the young girl standing in front of her, fair and pretty, with a kind and articulate manner, "Thank you, young lady!"
"You’re welcome." An Hao led them to the seats.
After sitting down, Ning Yibin went to place their order. Meanwhile, Zhang Yun chatted with An Hao at the table, "You are a student at this military school, right?"
"Yes, I’m a freshman!"
Zhang Yun looked at An Hao with approval, "The students who can get into this university are all brilliant! You’re all top students, but you can’t slack off even after getting into university. After all, you’re studying medicine, and that’s a matter of life and death."
"Yes. I take it very seriously!" An Hao nodded in agreement.
She felt that the old lady before her had a good aura, exuding a sense of righteousness that set her apart.
As An Hao was thinking, Qin Jian returned with two bowls of Yangchun noodles.
He paused for a second seeing Zhang Yun at the table.
Zhang Yun had a momentary pause when she saw Qin Jian, never expecting to encounter him here.
Once the surprise passed, a flicker of delight crossed her eyes, "Qin, are you also here for noodles?"
