"Without you, I’m not used to losing a partner either. You go back and rest first, I’ll take An Hao inside."
Jiang Ying glanced at An Hao lying in Qin Jian’s arms, her face pale and her whole body drenched, unsure of what had happened, "What’s wrong with sister-in-law?"
"She hurt her leg and has a fever! I’ll take her inside first." Qin Jian said briefly and carried An Hao upstairs.
Liu Jun had already opened the door, and Qin Jian entered with An Hao in his arms.
Seeing her completely soaked, laying her on the bed would soak through the sheets and quilt.
"Xiaoliu, could you please run back to my dorm and bring over all of my bedding?" Qin Jian ordered.
"But, Commander, aren’t there ready-made ones here?" Liu Jun was puzzled.
"Just go, I’ll explain later." Qin Jian couldn’t afford to explain.
Liu Jun moved quickly, and in no time, he had rolled up all the bedding from Qin Jian’s dorm, knocked on the door, and after entering, saw Qin Jian still holding An Hao.
"Make the bed with those, thank you for your trouble!"
After Liu Jun made up the bed, he quickly left.
Qin Jian woke the sleeping An Hao with a pat, "Take off all your clothes."
"What?" An Hao, burning with high fever, was somewhat groggy, "Take off everything!"
"Take off all your wet clothes!" Qin Jian repeated loudly.
It was then that An Hao’s mind cleared up a bit, "Take off everything? I don’t want to!"
"Do you plan to sleep in your wet clothes? Be obedient and hurry up!" Qin Jian’s tone was commanding, and seeing An Hao just sitting there, he took a deep breath and said, "If you don’t start now, I’m going to help you. After all, your clothes have to be taken off by me sooner or later."
An Hao, already feverish, felt her blood rush at his words, her cheeks turning even redder, "Why didn’t I notice before that you’re so improper?"
After speaking, she gave Qin Jian a look and waved her hand at him, "Turn around."
Qin Jian nodded, and sounds of fabric rubbing against each other came from behind him.
An Hao knew Qin Jian meant well and wouldn’t harbor bad intentions, so she complied with his instruction and took off all her wet clothes, tossing them aside before slipping under the covers.
When Qin Jian heard no more sound from behind, he asked, "Are you done?"
An Hao quietly responded, "Mhm. I’m done."
Only then did Qin Jian turn around, and on seeing the pile of wet, dirty clothes on the floor, he bent down to pick them up, intending to wash and hang them for her. But then he heard An Hao shout, "Don’t!"
Startled by her cry, Qin Jian’s hand shook, and the undergarments wrapped inside the dirty clothes fell out, his gaze dropping to the ground at the sight of the small, white undergarment, his cheeks heating up as his ears quietly reddened.
An Hao also saw her underwear exposed in front of Qin Jian, her face blushing even harder.
Especially since she wasn’t wearing clothes and couldn’t get out to quickly gather the dirty laundry, the stress caused sweat beads to form on her forehead, slightly lowering her temperature.
"Just roll up the clothes and set them aside, don’t wash them for me," she thought of her underwear being handled and washed by a man and felt deeply embarrassed.
A lovely little face was covered with a rosy glow, just like a rose red and ravishing in the afternoon sun.
Seeing her embarrassed, Qin Jian was about to tell her not to mind, when there came a loud knocking at the door, "Qin Jian, are you there?"
