He was followed by a bunch of adorable little warriors as he walked toward the dorms, watching the group of warriors walk away, Qin Jian called out from behind, "Don’t take them all, this is what your sister-in-law made for me, leave some for me!"
"We won’t save any, absolutely not!" Tian Niu shouted at the top of his lungs, "We are going to punish you on behalf of sister-in-law!"
The warriors had all left, leaving only Qin Jian and An Hao behind.
Qin Jian looked around and, seeing no one else, gently took An Hao’s hand and said with tender reproach, "You should just stay at school and review your lessons on Sundays. Rest when you are tired, and don’t prepare so much food next time!"
"Are you scolding me or feeling sorry for me?" An Hao looked at him, her tone carrying an almost imperceptible coquettishness.
"Of course I feel sorry for you! Just this once, you’re not allowed to do it again!" Qin Jian said.
"Mm." An Hao nodded, "I understand."
Seeing her so obedient, Qin Jian smiled slightly and thought of those heartless fellows from before; frowning, he said, "Now your prestige among them is higher than mine!"
"That’s perfect. This way, I can get things done easier! When the time comes, I’ll need the help of Company Commander Tian and the warriors too!"
"What help?" Qin Jian asked, puzzled.
An Hao stood on tiptoes, leaned close to his ear, and whispered, "Of course, to help me cut off your pesky admirers!"
"It’s what you call a full mobilization!" An Hao chuckled.
In Tian Niu’s dorm, the goods had been distributed fairly. Thankfully, everyone had a conscience and knew these items were meant for the commander, so they didn’t take more than their share.
Meat was expensive these days, not to mention beef.
Each warrior who took meat spontaneously prepared some change and gave it to Tian Niu to pass on to Qin Jian.
Qin Jian refused to accept the money at first, but An Hao told him that the business of selling jeans had been doing very well lately and the income was great. She told him not to worry about finances.

The sun had set, and the street lamps on both sides of the city streets began to light up, casting long shadows of the two people on the ground with their warm glow.
The streets were bustling with people. Qin Jian and An Hao, hand in hand, walked along the sidewalk while the locust trees on both sides swayed gently in the wind, the fluttering leaves rustling softly.
At this moment, An Hao’s heart was filled to the brim with happiness—she wished this road would go on forever, leading both of them to everlasting togetherness.

Qin Jian looked down to see the smile on An Hao’s lips and felt his mood lift, "An Hao, what are you thinking about?"
An Hao looked up and pursed her lips in a smile, the sweet dimples in her cheeks rippled, "Qin Jian..."
"I’m so glad to have met you!"
"I want to walk with you until our hair greys and our teeth wobble—until the end of time..."
"We will!" Qin Jian’s eyes were filled with laughter, and his grasp on her hands tightened.
As they were lost in their own world, suddenly a shrill noise tore through the night sky, shattering the peaceful quiet of the evening.
Qin Jian was jolted back to reality by the scream and swiftly turned his head to look across the street.
