An Hao was startled and spun around to see Gu Shuangshuang standing behind her with hands on hips and a flushed face, her eyes wide with fury.
Her hair was a complete mess, and her clothes looked like they were about to rip into shreds! She was the picture of dishevelment!
"Shuangshuang, what happened to you?"
"An Hao, I want to kill those brainless, nasty-tongued people!" Gu Shuangshuang huffed as she came in and grabbed a teacup from the table, gulping down water greedily.
"Who are these nasty-tongued people you’re talking about?" An Hao already had an ominous feeling.
"Them! All those rumormongers!" Gu Shuangshuang plopped down onto An Hao’s bed and raised her arm to check it, revealing scratch marks bleeding from her skin.
An Hao quickly grabbed alcohol and cotton balls from her medical kit to disinfect Gu Shuangshuang’s wounds. "Ancestor, did you go and pick a fight with someone?"
"Hmm!" Gu Shuangshuang grunted gloomily.
"How many people?" Given her condition, there must have been quite a few.
"Those three dorms over there." She gestured casually.
An Hao gasped, "Oh my god! Do you think you’re a Warrior or what? Fighting with people from three different dorms is just too reckless!"
"I can’t stand them talking behind your back!" Gu Shuangshuang slammed the table suddenly, standing up and pointing at the dormitory’s occupants as she shouted, "Are you even roommates? Watching An Hao being badmouthed , and none of you care? Zhang Juan, who lent you money when you lost your living expenses last month? Lei Lin Xuan, whose notes do you borrow every time for class? And you, Xu Yinuo, haven’t you used An Hao’s hot water she brought back? Guan Kexin, you are heartless and ungrateful, I can’t even be bothered to mention you!"
Gu Shuangshuang’s tirade had targeted everyone in the dormitory.
If this had happened before, Guan Kexin might have dared to retaliate with a few words against Gu Shuangshuang, but now she’d been warned by her grandfather—if she caused any more trouble, she would be sent straight home to face expulsion.
"Badmouthed about what?" An Hao frowned and grabbed Gu Shuangshuang’s hand. "Calm down first, and tell me what’s going on. Did you run off to fight people like a hero out of Liangshan, all for me?"
Gu Shuangshuang nodded, "Yes! Don’t you know? The whole campus is spreading rumors that you’re pregnant and the baby is Yan Ye’s."
Upon hearing this, An Hao felt a surge of anger rising within her. "Who would slander me so viciously? What do they take me for?"
"The rumor spreaders are hateful! Our dorm mates are even worse! Day in and out, they live with you and still, someone could suspect you." Gu Shuangshuang’s sharp gaze bore into Xu Yinuo, "I truly misjudged you."
Xu Yinuo hung her head and said in a low voice, "When others asked if it was true, I just said I didn’t know."
"Didn’t know?" Gu Shuangshuang stepped forward, seizing her wrist, demanding, "This past month, we’ve been with An Hao every day, never separated. When did she go off to have some sordid affair with teacher Yan? You’re all condoning the spread of rumors! Accessories to the rumor mongers!"
"Enough already." Guan Kexin couldn’t help but roll her eyes. "Just you with your overblown sense of justice! Go on then, defend An Hao. You can fight people from three dorms, think you can beat up the entire school?"
Gu Shuangshuang raised an eyebrow, her gaze as sharp as a knife. "Guan Kexin, watch what you say. Otherwise, I’ll beat you up too! Let me tell you, I’m not afraid of your so-called military commander grandfather."
