Yang Dahe gave Feng Chunhua a good scolding, and his own anger dissipated somewhat.
As he watched her cry with snot and tears, he reached out, grabbed a towel, and tossed it to her, "Wipe your face clean! Go and apologize to Qin Jian and his wife when they get back later!"
Feng Chunhua was utterly reluctant, but she looked up at Yang Dahe and saw his stern expression glaring at her.
She had no choice but to nod, "Alright."
Conversations echoed in the stairwell, Qin Jian and An Hao were back.
It was summer, and the room was very hot.
Qin Jian went to the water room and brought in a basin of water for An Hao to wash her hands and face, to cool down.
"When is Tian Niu coming back? I can see that Shuangshuang really misses him," An Hao asked as she washed her hands.
"In a couple of days. I heard he went out for ten days of training; he will be back soon," Qin Jian said, plunging his hands into the basin too, enjoying the cool and refreshing water.
"Right. Once Tian Niu is back, let’s send Shuangshuang over. You should also talk to Commander Tian, Shuangshuang really likes him. He shouldn’t always be so timid and shy," An Hao said offhandedly.
Thinking of Tian Niu, Qin Jian laughed, "This is something he needs to figure out himself."
"Can’t you give him some advice? It would save him so much trouble," the key point being, Gu Shuangshuang wouldn’t have to be annoyed with that dumb ox all the time.
"You’re not short of worries," Qin Jian said with a smile, "Be careful, or one day you might worry too much and turn into a little old lady."
"You’re the old lady." An Hao laughed and scooped up a handful of water, playfully splashing it towards Qin Jian’s face.
"Starting trouble again," Qin Jian quirked the corner of his lips, took out his hand that was cooled by the ice water, and reached for An Hao’s slender waist.
"Giggling!" An Hao let out a string of bell-like laughter, "That’s not fair... you can’t tickle me."
The two were frolicking when there was a knock on the door.
An Hao quickly pushed Qin Jian away, tidied her messy hair, straightened her clothes, and sat down to the side.
Qin Jian opened the door, and the couple, Yang Dahe and his wife, walked in.
Upon seeing An Hao, Yang Dahe had an apologetic look on his face. He tugged at Feng Chunhua and pushed her in front of An Hao.
An Hao felt a surge of irritation when she saw Feng Chunhua and turned her head away.
Qin Jian saw his little wife throwing a tantrum and couldn’t help but smile slightly, stepping forward and nudging An Hao gently, "The guests are here; shouldn’t you show some hospitality?"
An Hao glared at Qin Jian and pouted enough to hang a small donkey on it.
Yang Dahe, feeling awkward, coughed lightly, "It’s right for younger sister-in-law to be angry. I have heard about the incident. After some education and criticism from me, your sister-in-law has realized her mistake. She’s here to apologize, isn’t she?"
He then pushed Feng Chunhua slightly from behind.
Feng Chunhua had never apologized to anyone in her life, she had always swaggered through the village— who would dare to bully her?
Now, to apologize to this young girl, An Hao, she found it impossible to utter the words.
An Hao was also unhappy, sitting there silently.
"Be good, behave," Qin Jian gently patted her shoulder and whispered, "Why are you acting like a little child?"
An Hao thought, that’s true, why did I suddenly start acting like a child in front of outsiders?
Maybe he spoiled her too much!
She had become more and more girlish!
With this thought, An Hao smiled and stood up, clearing the spot, "Director Yang, sister-in-law, please take a seat. I’ll go pour some water for you."
