"An Hao, don’t rush, I’m going to the restroom and will be back to help you soon," Gu Shuangshuang said before leaving.
In the laboratory, only An Hao remained, deeply engrossed in her experiment.
Her expression was focused, with all her attention fixed on her own experiment as if everything else in the world was irrelevant to her.
The sunlight filtered through the window, falling on her fair face, creasing her brow slightly. Observing the reaction in the test tube, her lips twitched slightly, and the dimples on her cheeks faintly emerged, bringing her whole expression to life.
An Hao was completely immersed in her own world, but she was unaware that this scene was caught by someone outside the window. His eyes sparkled with amazement, and his heart began to throb with excitement.
He had never seen such a beautiful girl before.
An Hao was busy with her experiment when suddenly a whistling sound reached her ears.
She stopped what she was doing and looked up, only to see a nonchalant young man sitting next to her, his hand propping up his cheek, and his slender eyes sizing her up.
Seeing that An Hao noticed him, he chuckled, "Hi, what’s your name?"
An Hao didn’t like the look in his eyes and glared at him without speaking, continuing with her experiment.
"Yo, quite aloof, huh! Don’t be like that. Let’s be friends."
An Hao didn’t even lift her eyelids, replying indifferently, "Not interested."
"Don’t be like that! You’ll be interested once we get to know each other. My name’s Cheng Yue, what about you?" the boy asked persistently.
An Hao frowned and ignored him, continuing with her experiment.
Cheng Yue found himself at a loss, his gaze scanning the reagent rack on An Hao’s experimental table and instantly understood what experiment she was doing.
"Hey, if you don’t talk, I’ll just call you ’little junior sister’," Cheng Yue said with a grin. "Let me help you with that. I know this experiment inside out – I can do it with my eyes closed."
"Thanks, but no thanks!" An Hao glared at him, wondering how someone could be so thick-skinned.
"Come on! Let me help you!"
Cheng Yue said this and directly snatched the dropper from An Hao’s hand, taking it upon himself to add the reagent for her.
"Hey, don’t mess around..." An Hao had just started to stop him.
But she found that he had already adeptly dropped in a reagent.
Soon after, An Hao noticed that the state of the experiment had changed.
Her gaze fell back on the two bottles of reagent, and upon a closer look at the bottles, she could see signs that the labels had been tampered with.
She quickly took out other reagents to test for color-change reactions with these two, and the results left her astounded.
Indeed, the two identical-looking reagents had been switched.
"Well, next you should add... huh? Your reagent is wrong..." Cheng Yue hadn’t finished his sentence when An Hao, without a word, grabbed her books and strode away.
Cheng Yue followed her out, "Hey, don’t go! What’s your name?"
An Hao didn’t even bother to acknowledge him, walked to the end of the corridor, and disappeared around a corner.
In the dormitory, Guan Kexin lay on her bed, munching on an apple.
Seeing An Hao return, she sat up and smirked sarcastically, "Wow, not easy, is it? Did you finish the experiment?"
The corners of An Hao’s mouth curved up, "Guan Kexin, how does it feel to pull pranks on others?"
Guan Kexin was taken aback, realizing that she had been found out.
But even if she was discovered, what could be done about it?
"Thrilling! Absolutely thrilling," Guan Kexin boasted, puffing up her chest and looking at her with a defiant gaze.
"Is that so? Up next, I’ll give you something thrilling too," An Hao replied, pulling a wide-mouth bottle from her bag with a smile on her lips and a cold light in her eyes. "Guess what this is? Hydrochloric acid? Sodium hydroxide? Or something else? What do you think will happen if it gets on the skin?"
