She was the last to get out of class and when she arrived at the laboratory building, everyone was already there, waiting for her.
After greeting the professors, An Hao went towards the back of the lab.
"Little junior sister, why did you only get here now?" Li Zhi saw An Hao and made room for her.
"I literally sprinted over here," An Hao caught her breath and asked Li Zhi, "Do you know what the important matter Teacher Yan mentioned today is?"
Li Zhi was always mixing with Cheng Yue, and although she didn’t know much else, she was well informed about anything related to Cheng Yue.
"Teacher Yan is going to introduce a heavy hitter to join our research team today."
"A heavy hitter? Who is it?" An Hao’s curiosity was piqued.
Before Li Zhi could answer, the door was pushed open, and Teacher Yan walked in with the heavy hitter, who turned out to be Cheng Yu.
Having joined Military Medical University as a teacher, she was also dressed in a military uniform, her once elegant and charming aura gone, replaced by a brisk and valiant air.
"Teacher Cheng!" An Hao exclaimed in surprise.
"You know her?" Li Zhi and Zhang Chaoqian said in unison.
"I’ve had some interaction with her. She seems like a nice person," An Hao said, remembering how Cheng Yu had left a good impression on her from their past couple of encounters.
Hearing An Hao speak , Li Zhi and Zhang Chaoqian exchanged meaningful glances with Cheng Yue.
Cheng Yue pretended not to notice, for two reasons: first, he had been hurt quite badly last time. Second, with his sister joining, he had to make sure his own words and behaviors were in check.
If he continued to behave recklessly, he guessed that his future days would not go well.
"Today I would like to introduce a new teacher joining our research team! Cheng Yu—Teacher Cheng! She’s just returned from six years of studying abroad and specializes in cardiovascular knowledge. I believe her arrival will inject a powerful force into our team! Let’s welcome her!" Yan Ye gave a simple introduction.
Loud applause lasted for several seconds as Cheng Yu, smiling, bowed to everyone: "Nice to meet you all for the first time. I hope to have a pleasant collaboration in our future work and strive to provide results as soon as possible, to advance cardiac sciences in the field of medicine!"
After her brief self-introduction, Cheng Yu became a part of the lab team.
Yan Ye personally introduced his research topics and the future research direction to Cheng Yu.
An Hao sat at her post conducting experiments, listening to the guys behind her murmuring about something—she heard them mentioning "Sister Cheng Yu" repeatedly.
An Hao suddenly realized, could this Cheng Yu be Cheng Yue’s older sister?
Her guess was soon confirmed.
After two class periods, when An Hao was ready to go for a meal and was walking downstairs, she saw Yan Ye and Cheng Yu ahead, deep in conversation.
"Having spent a few years abroad, you must be aware that cardiac sciences are more advanced there than here. I’m hoping that our project research will show results soon, given the number of people applying for similar projects. In minimally invasive surgery, there must be many working on it. I hope we can stay ahead..."
"Don’t worry, I will give it my all," the voice of Cheng Yu wafted back.
"Hmm. I believe with your participation, our project research will go much smoother," Yan Ye said with a smile and then, changing the subject, he suddenly brought up Cheng Yue, "I hadn’t expected you to be siblings with Cheng Yue. The president had introduced me to your resume when you arrived."
