“Are you going to buy this many snacks?” Sheng Chuyi frowned as he looked at the pile of snacks.
“Yeah! These are all my favorites.” It wasn’t often she did a big grocery haul, and now that she had sufficient funds, she definitely wanted to buy more.
“No way, too many! Eating too much junk food is bad for your health,” said Sheng Chuyi, while he started taking out the snacks she had just chosen.
“Hey, don’t put them all back, those are my favorites,” Shen Zhaozhao scrambled to intervene, throwing herself over the cart, prohibiting him from taking anything more out.
Sheng Chuyi said, “I promised Aunt Ran to keep a close eye on you. You’re not allowed to buy these, or I’ll tell her to deduct half of your living expenses next month.”
“Sheng Chuyi, are you the devil?” Shen Zhaozhao’s eyes widened; she lifted her head, staring at him in disbelief.
Sheng Chuyi replied, “I am!”
Seeing that being assertive didn’t work, she had to try a softer approach.
Shen Zhaozhao put her hands together, biting her lip pitifully, fluttering her eyelids as she looked at Sheng Chuyi, “Brother Yi, you’re the best. Please, let the kid keep some, will you?”
