Both Gu Chengzhou and Zhou Huaiyu had posted about the engagement party on their social circles.
Upon seeing this, Ye Wei’an had angrily smashed a phone.
She had thought that by getting into Jing University, she and Sheng Chuyi would have endless possibilities. However, she hadn’t expected that Shen Zhaozhao would also be admitted to Jing University.
As she watched the two of them become inseparable and grow closer each day, waves of resentment surged through her.
Even though she had perfected her facade, she had to struggle to maintain a smile at that moment.
After the poetry contest, Ye Wei’an became much more low-key.
There wasn’t much to do for the Study Club, and with a holiday in between, Shen Zhaozhao hadn’t seen her for a long time.
Ye Wei’an didn’t seem to be in good spirits, though her makeup was immaculate, the gloom in her expression was hard to hide.
During her last meeting with Ye Zhen, she learned that the Ye Family’s business was struggling lately, having lost several big contracts and facing financial difficulties, which also made Ye Wei’an’s life less comfortable.
Now of age and with appealing looks, Father Ye intended to use her for an arranged marriage to pull in investments for the Ye Family. It was heard that he frequently took her along to various banquets of late.
Although Ye Wei’an was aware of her adoptive father’s intentions, she didn’t decline. Even if she had the ability to leave the Ye Family, she wouldn’t do so.

The club meeting was essentially a summary of the club’s work from the previous semester, along with some plans for the new semester.

This time, there were two main tasks for the meeting. One was to motivate club members to take the Sixth Level examinations.
The second was the organization of special lectures for the Sixth Level exams.
Shen Zhaozhao became busy once again, as organizing a lecture involved promotion, creating display boards, and distributing flyers–all tasks that fell to the new club officers.
This time, Shen Zhaozhao’s task was to be in charge of the display board creation, paired with another female officer. Since they had classes during the day, they could only go to the activity room to paint at night.
Shen Zhaozhao wasn’t good at painting; she could only help out by running errands and assisting with the task.
“Zhaozhao, we’re short on paint, could you please go to the Material Room and fetch a new set of paints for me?”
The Student Union had its own Material Room, specifically for storing materials needed for various Student Union activities.
You just need to register when taking out supplies and return them when you’re done.
Shen Zhaozhao had delivered things once during the poetry contest with her senior and knew where it was.
At this hour, the Material Room was empty, and Shen Zhaozhao didn’t know where the paints were, so she had to search shelf by shelf. Finally finding them, she got ready to turn around, only to discover that the lights in the Material Room had suddenly gone out.
