Sheng Chuyi picked up the phone and told the person that it was almost done, just a little bit left.
The person urged him to hurry up.
Sheng Chuyi put away his phone and glanced uneasily toward the door, thinking that with that girl’s temperament, she probably wouldn’t really be angry. He decided to placate her properly after finishing this project.
Soon after, he returned his gaze and opened his laptop.
As a result, he got busy until very late.
When he walked out of the room, he found that the girl had already gone to sleep.
There was takeout left for him on the dining table.
The next morning, Shen Zhaozhao came out of the residential area to find Ye Zhen waiting at the door on her motorcycle.
Seeing Shen Zhaozhao looking listless, Ye Zhen couldn’t help but raise an eyebrow and said, “What’s wrong? You seem low. Did you have a quarrel with your guy?”
Shen Zhaozhao: “You tell me, don’t guys start taking you for granted once they’ve got you?”
Ye Zhen quickly caught on and laughed, saying, “Don’t worry. From what I’ve seen, your guy doesn’t seem like that kind of person.”
Shen Zhaozhao snorted, “Forget it, let’s not talk about him. Talking about men spoils the mood.”
Ye Zhen picked up a helmet from the bike and handed it to her, saying, “Come on, get on, let’s go for a ride!”
After Shen Zhaozhao put on the helmet, she climbed onto the back seat.
“Hold on tight!” Ye Zhen reminded her before starting the motorcycle. Accompanied by the roaring sound of the engine, she sped off toward their usual practice spot.
Ye Zhen took her to an abandoned racetrack. After running several laps around the track, she stopped and asked, “How is it, feeling any better?”
Shen Zhaozhao removed her helmet and let out a heavy breath: “Yeah, much better!”
The speed and excitement dispersed her irritability, and after a few laps, she felt immensely relieved.
Shen Zhaozhao looked at Ye Zhen, eager to try and said, “How about, you teach me how to ride a motorcycle?”
“It’s quite dangerous.” Although Ye Zhen loved riding, she was not comfortable with Shen Zhaozhao learning it.
“No worries, I’m not afraid of danger.”
“Alright then!” Seeing her keenness, Ye Zhen relented, helped her put on the protective gear, and instructed her on how to start the bike, how to throttle, and how to slow down, finally reminding her, “Just go slow at the beginning.”
“Got it! Don’t worry, I won’t do anything reckless.”
Shen Zhaozhao knew how to ride an electric bike, so a motorcycle was just faster for her. She was a bit unsteady at the start, but soon got the hang of it.
After riding a couple of laps, Shen Zhaozhao’s courage grew, and as she passed by Ye Zhen, she even excitedly waved at her.
However, joy turned to dismay when she forgot to slow down while taking a curve, turning sharply and crashing.
“Are you okay?” Ye Zhen rushed over to her.
“I’m fine!” Shen Zhaozhao struggled to take off her helmet and smiled at Ye Zhen, “Sorry, I crashed your bike. Please check if the bike is okay? Don’t worry, I’ll pay for the repairs.”
Fortunately, she was wearing protective gear, and since she was just learning, her speed was not too fast, resulting in only some scratched skin and a possibly sprained ankle.
“What are you talking about, the bike, at a time ?” Ye Zhen glared at her annoyed.
“I’m really fine!” Shen Zhaozhao said.
Nonetheless, Ye Zhen insisted on taking her to the hospital to get checked out.
