"What’s going on with everyone?"
Even if Shen Zhaozhao was slow to catch on, she could sense that something was off with the Company’s atmosphere. A colleague from the data team quietly told her, "DT has terminated their contract with our Company. Everyone’s in a bad mood, don’t take it personally."
"Terminated the contract?"
Shen Zhaozhao had thought at most there would just be no further investment, but even the cooperation that had already been agreed upon was cancelled?
Instinctively, Shen Zhaozhao wanted to find Sheng Chuyi in his office, but as she stood up, she remembered: oh, he had gone out and hadn’t returned yet.

"Okay!" Shen Zhaozhao sat on the couch without speaking until Sheng Chuyi finished his work and looked up to find the girl lost in thought on the sofa.
Sheng Chuyi shut down the computer, stood up, and walked over to her, saying, "Have you become bored from waiting?"
"No," Shen Zhaozhao lifted her head.
"Let’s go!" Sheng Chuyi reached out his hand to her.
Shen Zhaozhao took his hand to stand up from the sofa and said, "I heard that DT terminated the contract with Zhao Yi?"
"Is it a big trouble?"
"It’s okay, everything has been resolved. Although DT has terminated the contract, Zhao Yi received a penalty fee. It’s just a shame that all the efforts everyone has put in recently were for nothing."
"I’m sorry, it’s all my fault. I messed things up."
She had heard before that for DT’s project, the whole Company had been busy for a half-month, working overtime nearly every night; now, all that effort was wasted.
Seeing her expression, Sheng Chuyi guessed she must have heard something at the Company, "It has nothing to do with you," he said. "You don’t need to take the blame upon yourself."
"There’s no need to comfort me," Shen Zhaozhao drooped her head in dejection. "I know it’s because of me. If only I could have held back." If she hadn’t gone to the office that day, perhaps nothing would have happened.
Sheng Chuyi tightened his grip on her hand, "Her target was me. As long as I refuse, our cooperation with DT would have ended sooner or later. It was because their Company was too weak in the eyes of their partner that they could terminate the contract so readily.
Even though he said that, if she hadn’t provoked Li Shanshan, the termination wouldn’t have happened.
At least not so quickly.

Staying by Sheng Chuyi’s side, she not only couldn’t help him, but she would also become a stumbling block on his path to success.
