Sheng Ning’an had always had a thick skin, and even though she knew the homeroom teacher’s words might not be very pleasant, having heard it all from a young age, she didn’t really mind.
"Young lady, not bad! Both of your parents and your Young Uncle are Jing University graduates, and one of them is even a math professor there. And you, you scored 32 in math?" Xu Weiran thought about the score he had just seen and couldn’t believe his eyes.
He could probably score higher than that even if he closed his eyes during the exam.
No wonder someone was reluctant to come to the parent-teacher meeting for her.
It was likely because it would be too embarrassing.
However, he guessed wrong. Sheng Yeli didn’t come merely because he didn’t have time.
As for being embarrassing, well, if he came to the school a few more times, he would know that this was hardly anything.
Sheng Ning’an was unimpressed: "So what if it’s 32 points? Are you discriminating against the academically challenged?"
Xu Weiran simply found it unbelievable, "Don’t pin labels on me, I don’t discriminate against the academically challenged, I just can’t believe that a Jing University math professor managed to have a daughter who flunks math."
Sheng Ning’an huffed, "My parents are my parents, and I am me. Isn’t there a biological term called ’genetic mutation’? There are exceptions to everything, and I am the exception in our family."
Everyone naturally assumes that the kids of top students should also be top students, but as it turns out, a top student’s kid could also be academically challenged.
So what if both her parents graduated from the math department at Jing University with high honors? That didn’t prevent her from scoring a 32 in math, did it?
"Hey, Xu Weiran!" Sheng Annin suddenly called him.
No sooner had she spoken than she got knocked on the forehead, "You should call me ’brother,’ not just Xu Weiran!"

Xu Weiran responded in a teasing, provoking tone, "I’m not interested in underage kids, tell your deskmate to focus on studying. And you too, at your young age, stop thinking about dating and improve your math scores—that’s what really matters."
Sheng Ning’an pouted, "What has that got to do with me? I don’t even like you." As for dating, none of the boys in school were up to her standards.
If she were to find a boyfriend, he’d have to at least be like her Young Uncle.
Without her Young Uncle’s looks and intelligence, she wouldn’t choose them.
Xu Weiran, now interested, smiled and asked, "Oh, what type do you like then?"
Sheng Ning’an: "Definitely not you."
"Why?" Xu Weiran didn’t expect that one day he would be dismissed by someone.
Sheng Ning’an: "You’re too old."
He was only twenty-three this year. Old?
But compared to her, maybe he was indeed a bit old.
"Alright, mission accomplished, I’m off. I hope the next time I see you, your math score will be 132, not 32." Xu Weiran patted her head as he spoke and before leaving, he didn’t forget to add, "I will suggest to your Young Uncle that it’s time to hire a tutor for you!"
Sheng Ning’an couldn’t help but scowl, "I’d advise you not to meddle too much, mind your own business and keep it clean, it’s better for meeting in the future."
Xu Weiran burst out laughing and waved at her, "Study hard."
Sheng Ning’an’s face turned even darker!
